CARLISLE
Race 2 No1 ELVIS MAIL
Trainer: Nick Alexander – Jockey: Conor O’Farrell
Home advantage can prove a trump card for locally-trained ELVIS MAIL. A three times winner at Kelso and dual scorer at Ayr, the selection ran a cracker to chase home Eclair D’ainay at the first named venue last time and now visits Carlisle for the first time. In what looks a strictly two horse affair he can outpoint impressive Leicester scorer One For Rosie.
Race 4 No1 CAPTAIN CHAOS
Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Harry Skelton
CAPTAIN CHAOS came out of the wilderness to dominate throughout in a more competitive race at Ascot last time. Off a 5lb higher mark he can again serve it up to his rivals from the front, and should prove hard to peg back.
Race 7 No4 THE GALLOPING BEAR (Nap)
Trainer: Ben Clarke – Jockey: Ben Jones
In beating Sametegal by 12 lengths at Fontwell THE GALLOPING BEAR stated his case as a very useful addition to the hunter-chase ranks. He looked good value for his margin of victory and can take the spoils on the way to better things.
CHEPSTOW
Race 5 No1 CODED MESSAGE
Trainer: Ben Case – Jockey: Kielan Woods
The drying ground will suit Vegan Blue, but the same can be said of CODED MESSAGE who got badly stuck in the mud at Hereford last time and will be a much bigger price. The selection had competed in better company previously, and although a rank outsider should not be underestimated.
Race 6 No9 DONT BE ROBIN (Nap)
Trainer: Rosemary Ford – Jockey: Richie McLernon
Successful here two years ago, DONT BE ROBIN ended a lengthy subsequent losing run at Taunton earlier in the month where he looked to have plenty in hand. This is a more competitive race, but he is in the mood to stage a repeat, perhaps at the main expense of Cobra Commander.
