Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Friday’s racing taking placeat Dundalk. Video analysis included.
Race 3: No11 – SINDHIA (Nap)
Trainer: Michael Halford – Jockey: Ronan Whelan
SINDHIA made a big jump forward on second run back when chasing home Pearls Galore in a big field of maidens at Limerick. She is the clear form pick on that evidence, and her midfield draw gives her pilot options. For top connections, she is very much the one to beat, although Zahee makes appeal as one to put in exotics on debut for his new trainer.
Race 5: No5 – MAGNANIMOUS
Trainer: Joseph O’Brien – Jockey: TBA
This Listed feature gives sire of the moment Mehmas another opportunity to advertise his prowess through hat-trick seeker MAGNANIMOUS. The selection endorsed the promise shown in mid summer maidens to tidily land handicaps at Cork and Listowel. He had to dig deep when stepped up to a mile on the last-named course and shouldn’t mind dropping back to seven furlongs for this clash with Admiral Nelson. That rival is on a recovery mission, finding himself in calmer waters than when beating only one home in a Group 1 at the Curragh.
Race 6: No1 – SILK CRAVAT (Each Way)
Trainer: John Geoghegan – Jockey: P Harnett
The luxury of the rail gives ultra-consistent SILK CRAVAT the opportunity to gain a handy position amongst a big field of handicappers. The Kyllachy gelding posted a sixth frame finish in a row when beaten a total of just a length and a half into fourth over course and distance two weeks ago. It’s 18 months since his last victory, gained here, and he’s overdue a return to the winner’s circle.
Race 8: No3 – EAGLEMONT
Trainer: Joseph O’Brien – Jockey: TBA
Camelot colt EAGLEMONT did us a favour when getting off the mark in a similar contest here last week. On his all-weather debut, he dug deep to make sure of the spoils and looked better the further he travelled. The performance augers well for an even better display now moved up to a mile and a half from his new mark, with Golden Valour and Curious Bride capable of giving him something to think about.
