Magic Tips Best Bets

TOP BET FOR TODAY
Race 2: FROSTY RAIN (6)

Jockey: Greg CHEYNE – Trainer: Alan GREEFF

FROSTY RAIN is the best bet on the day. She was beaten by the narrowest of margins in her last start over this C&D. The daughter of Global View looks to be a progressive type and in this type of field, she should take a power of beating.

Race 3: MARMARA SEA (3)

Jockey: Greg CHEYNE – Trainer: Alan GREEFF

Trainer Alan Greeff holds a strong hand in this contest and can saddle the first three past the winning post. MARMARA SEA is unbeaten from four starts on this course. He was slow into stride last time, but ran on strongly to win easier than the official margin suggests. Greg Cheyne steps back into the saddle and he should notch up his fifth straight win.

Race 4: MANINGI INDABA (3)

Jockey: Greg CHEYNE – Trainer: Alan GREEFF

MANINGI INDABA is a mare taking on the males. She ran a good race when finishing second behind stable companion, American Princess in the Walmer Handicap last time. She was reported to have a mouth injury that day, which makes the run that much more encouraging. She drops back to Handicap company today and from pole position, she should take a power of beating.

Race 5: FORD WINTIE (8)

Jockey: Marco V/RENSBURG – Trainer: Gavin SMITH

FORD WINTIE is one of the better bets on today’s programme. He set the pace in his last start over 1900m on this course but was caught in the shadow of the post. The son of Elusive Fort should have no issues with the extra distance on offer today and can go one better.

VALUE BET
Race 1: CURIOUS (1)
Jockey: Lukas BESTER – Trainer: Jacques STRYDOM

CURIOUS had excuses in his local debut effort over this C&D. He lost three lengths at the start, was bumped at the 300m mark but stayed on well at the finish. The son of Elusive Fort would have gained from the experience on the Polytrack and if jumping on terms, should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
