Newmarket Best Bets
Race 4: No1 – RICETTA
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Nicky Mackay
The only winner in the field, RICETTA can defy a penalty on the way to better th8ngs. The daughter of Camelot scored over 7f on the Rowley course and can now cut the mustard over a longer trip on the July course.
Race 8: No4 – MATEWAN
Trainer: Ian Williams – Jockey: Adam Kirby
A model of consistency, MATEWAN can make light of a 139-day absence in the finale. He was in winn8ng form when last seen at Newcastle at the end of January and holds Stamford Raffles on the evidence of that effort.
Redcar Best Bets
Race 2: No5 – NORTONTHORPE BOY
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
A midfield finish on debut should have taught NORTONTHORPE BOY plenty as he moves into turf for the first time. The Swiss Spirit colt hails from a yard whose juvenile stock invariably improves quite a way from debut to second start.
Race 5: No2 – DREAM LOCATION
Trainer: Saeed bin Suroor – Jockey: Kevin Scott
The beautifully-bred DREAM LOCATION hails from an outfit that must always be greatly respected on their forays here. By Invincible Spirit out of a Shamardal mare, she’s shown a deal of promise in her work in Newmarket and can deliver on this debut for owners Godolphin.
