Neil Morrice Best Bets

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips from Bangor-On-Dee, Chepstow, Catterick on Tuesday 27 October 2020.

BANGOR-ON-DEE

Race 4: No1 – GOOD BOY BOBBY

Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Daryl Jacob

Triple bumper and novice hurdles scorer GOOD BOY BOBBY rubbed shoulders with some high-class opponents over fences last season when winning at Wetherby and finishing just out of the money in a hot novice chase at Sandown. He now moves into the intermediate grade with the best form on offer and should prove very hard to beat.

Race 5: No1 – GUARD YOUR DREAMS (Nap)

Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

The penalised GUARD YOUR DREAMS can help make it a good day for this stable by following-up his impressive course and distance success of last month. The form of the lightly-raced Fame And Glory gelding looks rock solid, taking account of the efforts of Bear Ghylls who beat the selection in a Warwick bumper last season. He’s very well regarded at Grange Farm stables and looks one to follow.

CHEPSTOW

Race 1: No1 – CAPE MILANO (Nap)

Trainer: Philip Hobbs – Jockey: Richard Johnson

CAPE MILANO can take out this first division of the novices’ hurdle in the colours of Grand National winner West Tip. The Milan gelding placed on his only outing under Rules in a Sandown bumper, and while that was almost a year ago he’s considered fit and ready for this debut over jumps.

Race 2: No1 – BALMUICK

Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: Nico de Boinville

It’s hard to know what BALMUICK achieved when landing the odds on debut in a Hexham bumper, but the So You Think gelding wasn’t hard-pressed to land the spoils and has pleased in his schooling ahead of this jumping debut. He will strip quite a lot fitter than for that first foray onto the racecourse and can defy a penalty at the main expense of Star Gate, for whom there is also a positive vibe.

CATTERICK

Race 5: No2 – MAIN FACT (Nap)

Trainer: David Pipe – Jockey: Ben Curtis

Having landed a fair gamble just as he liked at Newbury last week, MAIN FACT can strike while the iron’s hot to tee himself up for a return to jumping. He put together an impressive five-race winning sequence in handicap hurdles in the New Year and is now in a less competitive affair than last week’s.

Race 6: No1 – INDIAN CREEK

Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Hollie Doyle

INDIAN CREEK’s form has been patchy since his only win of the season at Windsor in August. However, his subsequent three outings have all been at Grade 1 courses and he’s been freshened-up since his last outing at Goodwood. Hollie Doyle, who partnered the selection at Windsor, is significantly back in the plate and the combination looks to be favourably berthed in stall two on this sharp, turning track.
