Neil Morrice Best Bets & Tips

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Friday’s racing coming your way from Newbury, Doncaster and Newcastle.

NEWBURY

Race 1 No7 SEE THE EAGLE FLY (Nap)

Trainer: Harry Whittington – Jockey: Alan Doyle

SEE THE EAGLE FLY beat Balko Saint by a wide margin on hurdling debut at Fontwell in the autumn, form that his been boosted by that rival. She now gets identical underfoot conditions, having run well in a Lingfield jumper-bumper when given plenty to do. She was probably out of sorts when well beaten at Aintree in and rates the best bet on this interest card.

Race 3 No9 SIR SHOLOKOV

Trainer: Harry Whittington – Jockey: Daryl Jacob

Having worked with a couple of the stable stars earlier in the week, SIR SHOLOKOV can put his best foot forward to gain a first success over jumps. The former winning Irish pointer put in a pleasing debut under Rules when placed here behind My Drogo back in November. He’s in good order for this return to active duty.

Race 7 No7 ROSE OHARA (Each Way)

Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Daryl Jacob

In co,ours made popular by Crimson Embers and Rose Ravine, ROSE OHARA offers up good each way value in the concluding mares’ bumper. She’s earned on both starts and although beaten as a short favourite last time wasn’t beaten far.

DONCASTER

Race 2 No6 TIMBERMAN (Nap)

Trainer: Fergal O’Brien – Jockey: Paddy Brennan

TIMBERMAN caught my eye on latest start and should prove a horse worth waiting for. He travelled and finishing powerfully in that Kempton jumper-jumper, and experience that should have teed him up perf3ctly to notch a first success over jumps.

Race 3 No7 NIVEN

Trainer: Phil Kirby – Jockey: Thomas Dowson

NIVEN has also performed with a certain amount of credit in jumper-bumpers and should represent value as he returns to fences. It was at this time last year that he last obliged, and has come down a fair way in the weights.

Race 6 No6 SPANISH JUMP (Each Way)

Trainer: Jonjo O’Neill – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

If there’s a plot in this big field of handicap hurdlers it could well be SPANISH JUMP. Although failing to menace in two of his three outings his last outing at Taunton came too soon after a good effort behind Cadzand at Warwick. On the basis of what he achieved that day he is definitely worth a look on this debut in handicap company.

NEWCASTLE

Race 6 No7 DEVIL’S ANGEL (Nap)

Trainer: Jedd O’Keeffe – Jockey: Megan Nicholls

DEVIL’S ANGEL could have needed the run when not beaten far into third over course and distance last month. If coming on for that he should have plenty to offer. He gets an eye taking jockey booking.

Race 7 No2 SWISS CONNECTION

Trainer: Bryan Smart – Jockey: Jason Hart

It was back in November that SWISS CONNECTION scored over course and distance which was a big step up n anything he’d shown previously. If in the same mood he can follow-up.
