Leopardstown Best Bets

Race 2: THE CADDY ROSE (6) – 7/2
Trainer: Noel Meade – Jockey: Sean Flanagan

Likely favourite Zero Ten could find the concession of 9lbs to fellow hat-trick seeker THE CADDY ROSE beyond him in a competitive novice hurdle. The selection dug deep to gamely repel The Echo Boy at Naas and should fine track, trip and ground ideal.

Race 7: ROXBORO ROAD (7) – 17/10
Trainer: Ted Walsh – Jockey: Mark Walsh

This shouldn’t take much winning and there’s plenty to like about ROXBORO ROAD who while liking to get on with things may well get a lead in the early stages as he moves up the distance ladder. Ted Walsh reaches for first-time cheekpieces that should also assist the gelding.

Fakenham Best Bets

Race 1: ZANZI WIN (9) – 3/1
Trainer: Harry Whittington – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

A weak maiden hurdle featuring a likely odds-on market leader in Swaffham Bulbeck but a solid Each Way alternative is the unexposed ZANZI WIN. Harry Whittington provided a winning bet for us at Kelso on Saturday and with the benefit of a wind operation since his encouraging January, his Zanzi Win can take advantage of the 8lbs he receives from his older rival.

Race 6: CHAMBARD (1) – 5/2
Trainer: Venetia Williams – Jockey: Charlie Deutsch

Venetia Williams traditionally has her team peaking in the winter weeks of the season and the locally based trainer can send out CHAMBARD to make all. The Nap bravely attempted to lead throughout in a better race than this at Ludlow last time, only bring reeled-in on the run-in. He carries a penalty for a previous win but can outpoint the long-absent Niblawi.

Southwell Best Bets

Race 3: RIVER BRAY (2) – 15/10
Trainer: Victor Dartnall – Jockey: Cieren Gethings

RIVER BRAY is unlikely to head the market in what looks a strictly two-horse affair but is a progressive individual capable of toppling Good Boy Bobby. He landed some good bets at fancy prices when opening his account at Wincanton looking better the further he travelled. Similar good ground probably awaits him here, and he has a solid chance of following-up.

Race 7: WINNINGSEVERYTHING (1) – 8/10
Trainer: Harry Fry – Jockey: Noel Fehily

WINNINGSEVERYTHING overcame greenness to open his account at the first time of asking at Market Rasen when he was backed into favouritism and was in total command in the final 400 metres. He incurred a 7lb penalty and faces up to the solid Hurricane Harvey as well as debutants from stables that do well in bumpers, but his class can see him safe home.

Wolverhampton Best Bets

Race 2: STEELRIVER (5) – 17/10
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey Phil Dennis

Although he is taking a step up the class ladder it’s difficult to get away from the claims of STEELRIVER who was hugely impressive scoring over course and distance last month. Always travelling sweetly on the bridle, he was briefly denied a run but when greeting daylight put the contest to bed in a matter of strides. Given similar luck in running he can again swoop to conquer.

Race 6: Designated (7) – 22/10
Trainer: Clive Cox – Jockey: Hector Crouch

On her good home form DESIGNATED started a well-supported favourite on her seasonal reappearance over 1400 metres here but spoiled her chance by hanging. She continues to please connections and trainer Cox’s ploy of pulling her back to a sprint distance can see her demonstrate that those losses were merely lent.
