CARTMEL

Race 3 No1 GAME LINE (Nap)
Trainer: Peter Bowen – Jockey: Sean Bowen

The Bowens have an excellent record with their runners here and in this stayers’ chase field a worthy favourite in GAME LINE. While the handicapper raised the Nap 10lb for his latest win, he has his tail up and can make this a fourth win from his last five outings.

Race 5 No1 BURBANK
Trainer: James Moffatt – Jockey: Brian Hughes

BURBANK has done his new connections proud with a couple of wins from only five starts and is capable of shrugging aside a welterweight under the North’s top rider. No fewer than four of his five opponents won last time out, making this a tricky puzzle to unravel, but if in the same mood as when scoring at Aintree last time he will be hard to stop.

Race 6 No4 SHIP OF THE FEN
Trainer: Ian Williams – Jockey: Sean Bowen

The joker in the pack in this handicap hurdle is SHIP OF THE FEN. He missed out on a good opportunity when racing was abandoned here last week, but can still make his mark returned to jumping after a win on the Flat at Doncaster in early May.

UTTOXETER

Race 4 No10 BALLYELLIS (Each Way)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Jordan Nailor

Plenty take the eye in this betting extravaganza but the value should lie with the much improved BALLYELLIS. The former dual selling hurdles winner probably put in a career-best when second to Mercian Prince at Worcester and is one for the shortlist along with Starsky and Ask Henry.

Race 5 No6 BACK ON THE LASH
Trainer: Martin Keightley – Jockey: Tom Scudamore

This Summer Cup features a handful of recent winners, of whom BACK ON THE LASH can prove the pick. This is a different kettle of fish from the small field affairs he’s won at Ludlow and this course, but he doesn’t have as many miles on the chasing clock as some of his foes, of whom Talkischeap and Landofsmiles can also get involved.

Race 6 No2 RAPID FLIGHT (Nap)
Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: Nico de Boinville

This should also see plenty of action in the betting market, with RAPID FLIGHT the one that stands out. On only a fifth career start the five-year-old could have been let in lightly, as he smoothly opened his account at Southwell and has the potential for any amount of improvement.

WINDSOR

Race 1 No6 DANZART
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Tom Marquand

DANZART might not have the best of the draw, but the hooded gelding has been in great form since opening his account at Lingfield, waiting for some juice in the ground. The selection may be ridden less forcefully as he teams up with a new jockey at a course he ran well at earlier in the year.

Race 4 No11 CHAI YO POWER (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa

Le Havre gelding CHAI YO POWER is an unexposed handicapper that needs respecting on only a fifth career start. He found only Millions Memories his master at Chepstow, and though the cash went west on him that day, compensation now awaits.

Race 6 No2 MORROOJ
Trainer: Roger Varian – Jockey: Ray Dawson

Invincible Spirit filly MORROOJ went up 3lb for being beaten on seasonal comeback at Salisbury but that was by a mere short-head, while it showed she has trained on. She can have the measure of recent winners Arabian Romance and Bellazada.
