FFOS LAS

Race 1 No2 MAGICAL ESCAPE
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: Cieran Gethings

MAGICAL ESCAPE looked better the further he travelled when scoring at Chepstow, and was never more on top than at the finish. He relished a step up in trip to start realising his early potential, and though penalised is likely to build on it with everything right for another big run.

Race 5 No3 NATIVE MOON (Nap)
Trainer: Victor Dartnall – Jockey: Alan Johns

Nordic Storm takes the eye as one that could improve now in a handicap, but that remark applies equally to NATIVE MOON whose trainer is skilled at getting the best out of horses of his ilk. The selection showed flashes of ability when earning on his latest two of four starts, but is only now in his comfort zone.

Race 7 No7 COUP DE GOLD (Each Way)
Trainer: Evan Williams – Jockey: Miss Eleanor Williams

The diminutive COUP DE GOLD consistently earned for his connections over hurdles last season and has now changed stables. If the Welsh air can help exact any progression for him he should have a big say in the outcome of this two-mile handicap.

HEREFORD

Race 1 No6 ELLERTON (Nap)
Trainer: Syd Hosie – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

ELLERTON has plenty going for him and should give us a winning start to this evening card. He’s run well in better company, and as this is only his fifth outing under Rules there should be more to come.

Race 6 No7 HENRI LE BON (Each Way)
Trainer: Kerry Lee – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

Having shown he can operate when returning from a break, HENRI LE BON needs close inspection in the concluding two miles handicap chase. It’s exactly a year since he returned to fences to finish in the money in a novices’ handicap chase at Stratford. This is only a fourth-ever run over fences for the nine-year-old, who is ready and needs respecting.

FAKENHAM

Race 5 No5 TRINCOMALEE
Trainer: Lucy Wadham – Jockey: Dylan Whelan

TRINCOMALEE included a very good second to Bretney at Sandown in his select campaign of just three outings last season. This represents a move into calmer waters for the veteran, who has a very good earning record and is the one to beat.

Race 6 No1 COURT CIAN (Nap)
Trainer: Michael Kehoe – Jockey: Mr Charlie Case

COURT CIAN has been in good form in points and could prove a valuable alternative to Trevada in this hunter chase finale. At six the junior of the four runners, he jumps and stays well, and has his tail up.

SOUTHWELL

Race 2 No3 SON OF THE SOMME (Nap)
Trainer: Toby Lawes – Jockey: Harry Bannister

SON OF THE SOMME has knocked on the door for his new trainer with a second at Newbury where he was very easy to back. The gelding enjoyed the return to fences, and if in the same mood will be hard to beat.

Race 3 No11 BRIERY BEE
Trainer: Noel Williams – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

Dartmouth filly BRIERY BEE went down fighting on her first run under Rules at Fakenham and should prove the answer to this first division of the mares’ bumper. The danger is Gale Mahler, who didn’t enjoy the rub of the green on her own debut.

Race 7 No8 SOLAR SYSTEM
Trainer: Philip Hobbs – Jockey: Mickael Nolan

SOLAR SYSTEM reacted well to holdup tactics to score cosily at Fontwell, and though dropping back in trip for this two-and-a-half miler is strongly fancied to defy a 6lb rise in the weights, and follow-up.

Place Accumulator Perm (Races 2-8)

5, 2, 12 x 3, 4 x 11, 9 x 3 x 2, 1, 5 x 5, 1 x 8, 9, 4
