Neil Morrice: UK Racing Tips – Sunday 28 April 2019

Neil Morrice brings you all of his best bets and tips from Sunday’s racing at Salisbury and Wetherby.

Salisbury Best Bets

Race 2: VOLTAIC (10)
Trainer: Paul Cole
Jockey: Raul Da Silva

Having shown promise on all four of his juvenile starts VOLTAIC finds himself in a winnable heat for his in-form stable. He looked unlucky on his debut at Windsor and on his final start on the Lingfield Polytrack failed to handle the bend but nevertheless wasn’t beaten far. The key is his need for fast ground, and if rain arrives my confidence will be tempered.

Race 4: AIR FORCE AMY (5)
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: Callum Shepherd

Channon likes nothing more than posting a winner at his home track and in AIR FORCE AMY he has a filly that can follow in 2018 winner Westbrook Bertie’s hoofprints. The chestnut appeared late in the season last year before troubling the judge on all three starts. She was a gallop short and might not have handled the surface when overturned at 1-7 on her Lingfield reappearance, and must be forgiven that reverse as she will go off at a working man’s price for this first handicap venture.

Wetherby Best Bets

Race 1: ELLHEIDI (10)
Trainer: Karl Burke
Jockey: Ben Curtis

Of those with previous form ELLHEIDI is the one that has the most scope for improvement at three, and can open her account taking on fellow three-year-olds and elders. Her trainer liked her enough to run her in a Listed race at Newmarket and she’s reported to have done well through the winter.

Race 4: LOOK OUT LOUIS (7)
Trainer: Tim Easterby
Jockey: David Allan

A hallmark of the early part of the season has been the good form shown by Tim Easterby’s sprinters and LOOK OUT LOUIS could raise his game in this. Considering he blew the start he did well to get within six lengths of Ventura Ocean at Pontefract, a run that should have put the edge on him.
