Neil Morrice: UK Racing Tips – Wednesday 26 June 2019

Jockeys ride horses

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Wednesday’s racing at Bath and Kempton.

Bath Best Bets

Race 5: MONAAFASHA (5)
Trainer: Marcus Tregoning
Jockey: Jim Crowley

Shrewdness and Imperium are the obvious protagonists in this mile and a half maiden but it could be worth chancing MONAAFASHA to improve past them. Unconsidered in the betting on her Salisbury debut last month, she was slowly away but got the hang of things to stay on into the money in the final furlong. Maidens from her stable inevitably improve a bundle from their first outings.

Race 7: HELVETIAN (3)
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: David Probert

Course and distance scorer HELVETIAN hasn’t cut much ice in his three racecourse visits so far this season but this offers up a decent chance for the horse to rediscover his old form. It was a Class 2 in which he stumbled leaving the stalls but finished well in a big field at Epsom and he finds himself two classes down the ladder from an outside draw that should favour him.

Kempton Best Bets

Race 3: RED SUN (7)
Trainer: Charlie Hills
Jockey: Kieren Shoemark

Unless there’s a surprise packet from the unraced contingent RED SUN should take plenty of beating and endorse the promise of his Bath debut. That was only a four-runner affair, but after running green and getting outpaced, he picked up to stay on into second. It’s hard to equate the form but his experience edge has to stand him in good stead.

Race 6: LET RIP (3)
Trainer: Henry Candy
Jockey: Kieren Shoemark

A nightmare draw has to be surmounted if LET RIP is to follow up his first career triumph at Lingfield, but he’s an unexposed individual with room for plenty of improvement now going down the handicap route. His trainer has given him plenty of time, while he’s been in great form at home ahead of another visit to the Polytrack.
