Kempton Park Best Bets

Race 2: GLORY (5) 5/2
Trainer: Richard Hannon
Jockey: Tom Marquand

Taking a step down the class ladder after contesting a valuable Sales race at Doncaster when last seen at the St Ledger meeting, GLORY can take this on his Polytrack debut. His is easily the best form on offer, he is well drawn and has worked with enthusiasm on a similar surface at home.

Race 4: GONE WITH THE WIND (2) 8/1
Trainer: Rebecca Bastiman
Jockey: William Carson

Previous course winner GONE WITH THE WIND is no spring chicken but has the points on the boards to rank the one to beat in a weak contest. The eight-year-old put in a best run of the year at Chelmsford last time when troubling the judge in a race that was just as competetive as this. From a good draw, will be right there if enjoying a clear passage at the business end.

Lingfield Best Bets

Race 3: AZOR AHAI (3) 14/1
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: George Bass

Apprentice George Bass has a first ride for the Channon stable on AZOR AHAI who is considered forward enough to give a good account on his return from a protracted absence. The selection showed promise with a win over 1200 metres at Ripon to earn a tilt at a Listed race at Royal Ascot and his poor showing there is best overlooked as he was found to have a problem. He’s ready to put that behind him.

Race 6: KINGS INN (5) 5/1
Trainer: Paul Nicholls
Jockey: Megan Nicholls

Jumpers having their attention turned to the Flat from powerful stables are always a job for the book to weigh up and the same could prove true with KINGS INN here.
Paul Nicholls has engaged his daughter for the mount on the lightly raced five-year-old who displayed plenty of pace in his latest start over hurdles.

Southwell Best Bets

Race 1: LEXINGTON PLACE (3) 10/1
Trainer: Ruth Carr
Jockey: James Sullivan

Having recently notched a first all weather success, Twentysvnthlancers will be a popular order to follow-up but slight preference is for LEXINGTON PLACE. The nine-year-old is yet to win here but can operate well returning from a break and has a decent turn of foot if getting racing room in the closing stages.

Race 4: TUM TUM (7) SCRATCHED
Trainer: Michael Herrington
Jockey: Phil Dennis

Although he has never won here and finished just behind Hammer Gun here last time, the hooded TUM TUM has knocked on the door and has a bit more scope for improvement than the rest of these. His wide draw doesn’t make things easy, but he’ll go off at a de ent price and can reward Each Way support.

Market Rasen Best Bets
Race 1: ROCKWOOD (2) 25/1
Trainer: Karen McLintock
Jockey: Dale Irving
With nothing to recommend him as a hurdler it’s hard to evaluate ROCKWOOD whose recent all weather efforts have fallen short. However, he has a good chance of getting the trip in this small field and has worked well with a recent winner of a novice event over jumps. Aside from hot favourite Benny’s Boy only Yaa Salaam has any worthwhile form, making my selection a value alternative if on a going day.
Race 4: SECOND TIME AROUND (3) 3/1
Trainer: Alan King
Jockey: Wayne Hutchinson
This looks a good time to catch SECOND TIME AROUND who seeks to recoup the losses incurred when he was a well-backed favourite only to fall when bang in contention at Kempton in January. He departed too far from home to be certain he would have won, but is worth another chance now that his stable has run into a bit of form.
