Trainer Comments:
Former champion trainer Geoff Woodruff also saddles just one entrant and the SA Oaks Victress SECRET POTION is doing well at home according to ‘the guv’. “I was pleased with her prep run over 1400m and being Africa’s greatest horserace, the pace should be hot, though the pace is a concern. I see this year’s event different to the bookmaker’s, I see it as a very open race with the 4 and 5 year olds as Secret Potion’s biggest dangers.”

Winning Form – Magic Tips Comment:
This Gauteng based three-year old filly is top trainer Geoff Woodruff’s solitary representative in this event and her deserved Grade 2 Oaks triumph on the Highveld in early May booked her place in this field. She is a progressive sort who finished narrowly ahead of FIORELLA (1kg worse off) in the Fillies Classic in April and she has a low mass. That said, the daughter of Elusive Fort prefers a galloping track and she clearly needs an unlikely solid tempo. Her preparation has been good but she is another who has a really stiff task today.
Verdict: Improving Gauteng Oaks victress, decent prep but track & likely sedate tempo won’t suit.
