RACE 1
VIGOR CHAMP has the advantage of race experience but he takes on a bunch of well-bred first timers and the betting should be monitored closely. MASTER FAY hails from the powerful Caspar Fownes camp. He trialled fairly well on this course and he could be one worth following in 2021. HERO STAR returns from a three month break. He has good form before the layoff and he should finish in the quartet once again.
RACE 2
WINS ALL has finished runner-up in his last two outings and is arguably unlucky to not be a three-time winner. He was beaten a neck last time by Wood On Fire and a repeat of that efforts should see him back in the winners enclosure. EL JEFE was only beaten 1.1 lengths last time after returning from a six-month layoff. He should strip a much fitter horse today and can make his presence felt. MONSTER KAKA performed similarly in his comeback run when beaten by one length and he can upset in this field.
RACE 3
COMPUTER PATCH is the class in the race and barring his moderate last start, looks really difficult to oppose on paper. His last win came under Moreira and it is intriguing to see the pair reunited for this Grade 3 contest. AMAZING STAR got no clear run last time when finding no room at the 150m mark. With a clear passage in running he can find a swift return to form. STRONGER cast a shoe in the running last time and that run is perhaps best ignored. If putting his best foot forward then he can run into the money.
RACE 4
SOCKET ELITE has finished runner-up in his last two outings. He was narrowly beaten last time under Teetan and it is positive that he has kept faith in the ride. He jumps from an inside barrier position and on form must be respected. GREAT SMART followed up his recent win well when finishing runner-up at Happy Valley. He went close in his last outing on this course and will be looking to get back in the winners box. YES WE CAN likes to race from off the pace and if not caught too far back when turning for home then he can run into the money.
RACE 5
AUTHENTIC CHAMP is in search of a hat-trick of wins. He is drawn wide and shoulders top weight but the manner in which he has won his last two starts suggests he can earn another one on the trot. GOOD SHOT has performed well in his last two outings under Schofield. He is drawn best of all and should be right there to pick up the pieces should the top choice produce a flat effort. SAM’S LOVE found a form return last time and returns from a short break which may have done him the world of good. He will be racing fresh and can run into the money.
RACE 6
The South African bred SUPER DOBBIN represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. He made a smart form return last time when pipped at the wire by Master Montaro who has plenty followers in the next race. He was closing in strongly last time and if producing that type of finish then he will take a power of beating. SCORES OF FUN has finished second best in his last three outings. He looks the obvious threat on paper and should the top choice fluff his lines then he will be the one to pick up the pieces. STOICISM returns from a five-month break and may not be fully tuned up but if returning fit then he can run into the money.
RACE 7
MASTER MONTARO won his first Hong Kong start in fine fashion. He looks to be loaded with ability and should take a power of beating despite his top weight/outside draw. SILVER EXPRESS returns from a seventh month layoff but if class prevails then his form suggests he will be right there when they reach the business end. BIG FORTUNE followed up his recent win with two decent third-place finishes and he should fill the minor money once again.
RACE 8
WINNING DREAMER will be looking to keep his unbeaten record. He tries an extra furlong but the manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will relish the step up in distance. SKY DARCI went on reel off the hat-trick in his last outing. He is well-drawn and should be the first horse to throw out a challenge to the top selection. BUDDIES is a natural frontrunner that hardly ever runs a bad race. He has come back to his best after bleeding in June of last year and must be danger in this type of field.
RACE 9
This is a very competitive contest where some caution is advised. CZARSON put the race to bed last time out and it was race over before the final furlong. Purton retains the ride which is encouraging but there are plenty other runners in with a shout. LOCKHEED is without his recent partner as he has opted to ride the top choice. However, he is likely to race just off the pace and brings some decent form coming into this contest. DUKE WAI has been crowded at the start in his last two starts but if he can get away on better terms then he will be doing his best work late in the run down to the wire.
RACE 10
SOARING TOWER is the best bet on the programme. He followed up his debut win positively when pipped by a nose at the wire. He shoulders a low weight, will be looking to make amends and should start 2021 on a positive note. MIGHTY VALOR has had things go very similarly. He followed up his recent win with a gallant finish to only get pipped by a nose at the finish line. He looks fairly-handicapped and can get back to winning ways. BELUGA will look to get to the front of affairs from his wide draw. If getting across without using up too much energy then he may be difficult to peg back in the closing stages with in form Moreira in the saddle.
RACE 11
PACKING WALTHAM ran on powerfully last time when beaten a nose by Glorious Artist. He has a wide draw to overcome but he will get all the necessary assistance with Belgian ace Soumillon in the irons. CIRCUIT THREE has placed in his last two outings and is definitely coming along the right way. He was only beaten by a neck last time and will be looking to set things straight in the lucky last. LUCKY EXPRESS has finished runner-up in his last two outings. He takes a part in a very competitive race today but it will be no surprise to see him finish in the money once again.
