VALUE BET – NIMBLE NIMBUS ridden by H. Bentley

BEST BET – ULTRA EXPRESS ridden by J. Moreira

7.00 Race 1                       Class 4 Handicap 1800m

Selections: 9/5/10

YES WE CAN was only beaten by a nose on this course last time. He shoulders a handy galloping weight and should be one of the leading contenders. TOYCOON finished just over a length behind the top selection in his last start. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weight and there shouldn’t be too much separating them at the wire.

7.30 Race 2                        Class 5 Handicap 1200m

Selections: 5/3/6

GENERAL TRUMP finished well last time when beaten by a nose at Happy Valley. He has won a race on the All-weather and merits healthy respect in this type of field. FOX CHEUNGER was only beaten a neck by Cigar Buddies last time. It is encouraging the Maia has kept faith in the ride and the pair can run into the money.

8.00 Race 3                       Class 4 Handicap 1200m

Selections: 1/2/3

SNOWALOT produced an eye-catching debut win when defeating Good Runner on this course. He shoulders top weight this time around but is drawn in pole position and can make it quick back-to-back wins. VENTO found plenty support on debut when beaten a neck by Eight Trigrams. He should come on nicely with that run under the belt and can challenge the top selection.

8.30 Race 4                       Class 5 Handicap 1650m

Selections: 8/4/1

LUCKY VICTOR was an impressive winner on this course last time. He is likely to race on the speed and in this type of field, should be the one to beat. TURF BRILLIANT is also suited to this course. He finished 1.75 lengths behind the top selection last time and is now 2kgs better off at the weights with his recent conqueror.

9.00 Race 5                       Class 4 Handicap 1200m

Selections: 9/2/3

LUCKY RUBY has won twice on this course and should be cherry-ripe having his third run after a rest. He should get across from his wide draw without using up too much energy and may be difficult to peg back in the closing stages. STREET SCREAM is also drawn wide but brings fair form into this contest. The form of his penultimate run catches the eye and a repeat of that effort could see him find the winners enclosure.

9.35 Race 6                       Class 4 Handicap 1400m

Selections: 7/2/12

NIMBLE NIMBUS was only beaten a nose on this course last time and should be at peak-fitness coming into this contest. This is one of jockey Bentley’s better rides on the program and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. PINS PRINCE was given a peach of a ride to win his debut in Class 4 on this course. He is still relatively unexposed and capable of making it back-to-back wins.

10.05 Race 7                     Class 2 Handicap 1200m

Selections: 3/6/1

SILVER FIG beat a decent type in the form of Kurpany last time out. He is a five-time winner on this course and on form is difficult to oppose. KA YING MASTER was beaten just under a length by SIGHT SUCCESS last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights and there shouldn’t be too much separating them at the wire.

10.35 Race 8                     Class 3 Handicap 1000m

Selections: 2/11/10

CORDYCEPS SIX defeated RUN RUN COOL in fine fashion last time and is in search of a hat-trick of wins. He is 4kgs worse off at the weights which is a slight concern but he is in great form and merits healthy respect. SUPER FORTUNE was an eye-catching debut winner over this C&D. He steps up in class but the manner in which he won suggests there is plenty more to come from this individual.

11.10 Race 9                     Class 3 Handicap 1650m

Selections: 1/2/12

ULTRA EXPRESS is loaded with ability and looks one of the better bets on the program. He came from the middle of the pack last time to win going away and he is difficult to oppose, having his third run after a rest. ELITE PATCH was beaten 1.5 lengths by the top selection last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights and should finish closer as a result.

11.45 Race 10                   Class 3 Handicap 1400m

Selections: 1/3/4

This is a tricky race to end proceedings and the narrow first selection is THE IRISHMAN. He finished runner-up in an Australian Group 3 race last time and looks set to make a promising Hong Kong debut. HALL OF CHAMP only finished a couple of lengths behind the useful Fa Fa last time and he should make his presence felt in the lucky last.
