He drops in trip & class and South African racing pundits will be keen to see how Luke Ferraris fares against some of the world’s best jockeys. FORMULA EXCEL made vast progress in his last start, is well drawn and can confirm his recent improvement.
07.30 Race 2 Class 3 Handicap 1000m

FIRST RESPONDER showed guts and determination to win his last start under Chau. He shifted at the 300m on that occasion and fought hard all the way to the line. He jumps from an inside barrier and on form is difficult to oppose. GOOD VIEW CLARICO was unlucky last time when narrowly beaten as he brushed another horse at the 100m. He is drawn best of all and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may find himself in the winners enclosure.
08.00 Race 3 Class 4 Handicap 1200m

PACKING VICTORY produced a smart debut at Happy Valley. He moved up at the 150m and drew away from his opposition in fine fashion. He shoulders top weight but has plenty scope for improvement and should be up to the task at hand. CASA DE FORCA raced on heels last time and still managed to make steady progress up the rail. He went from gun to tape in his most recent win under Teetan and the pair merit healthy respect.
08.35 Race 4 Class 1 Handicap 1200m

LUCKY PATCH won his last start in impressive fashion. He moved up at the 150m on that occasion and the manner in which he drew off suggests there is plenty more to come from this individual. SHINING ACE is in good form and he produced a decent effort last time despite being unbalanced at the 400m. He performs well for Moreira and should be right there where it matters most.
09.10 Race 5 Class 5 Handicap 1200m

LUCKY MARYKNOLL comes in at the top of the weights but on form is difficult to ignore. He has found one better in recent outings under Maia and if returning fresh, should be a leading contender in this field. FOX CHEUNGER followed up his most recent win with a solid effort. He moved up like a winner on that occasion and was only outrun in the final furlong. It is encouraging that Ho has kept faith in the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.
09.40 Race 6 Class 4 Handicap 1000m

CORDYCEPS SIX followed up his first win with a solid effort despite receiving a bump at the 500m. He reunites with Piccone, is still on the upgrade and should take a power of beating. SPICY SO GOOD showed last time that he is over his bleeding issues. Moreira takes the ride and if confirming his recent improvement, must have a say in this line-up.
10.10 Race 7 Class 4 Handicap 1200m

VOYAGE STAR fought hard in his latest when narrowly beaten at the wire. He has cracked a neat draw and with Teetan retaining the ride, definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. SMART WONGCHOY finished runner-up in his last two starts under Badel before the season break. He was no match for the winner last time but looks fairly-handicapped and should give a good account of himself.
10.40 Race 8 Class 4 Handicap 1600m

EZRA was pushed back from 9 lengths off the pace last time out. He moved up with intent on that occasion but was caught in the shadow of the post. It is encouraging that Teetan has kept faith in the ride and the pair will be looking to make amends. SHANGAI DRAGON set the pace and only tired late in his last outing. He will be looking to adopt similar tactics and may be hard to peg back.
11.15 Race 9 Class 3 Handicap 1400m

LUCKY FUN is an ultra-consistent sort and the best bet on the card. He ran well in his last start despite experiencing an awkward start. He has cracked a neat draw, gets regular rider Purton in the irons and will be looking to get back to winning ways. HALL OF CHAMP raced three-wide last time and still managed to finish a creditable 3rd. He is drawn wide and gets Moreira up, who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
11.50 Race 10 Class 2 Handicap 1400m

E STAR got hampered at both the 900 & 600m last time and that effort is arguably best ignored. He has cracked pole position and on his prior form, should be one of the leading contenders. HIGHLAND FORTUNE finished runner-up despite hitting the rail at a crucial stage in the race last time. He is likely to settle a length or two off the pace and should be right there in the lucky last.
