We are exactly halfway in the Hollywoodbets Sizzling Summer Challenge!

Not only are we on the 15th January (halfway through the 3 month programme), but we have completed 13 race meetings, and we have exactly 13 race meetings left to go!

And at the halfway mark we have a tie for the lead in the jockey challenge! Anton Marcus and Warren Kennedy are all tied up on 657 points! Keagan de Melo is also only 4 points behind on 653, meaning the jockey race is still wide open for the top 3 spots! View full leaderboard here.

Warren Kennedy rode a full card today, top scoring for the jockeys with 69 points from his 8 rides. This included a winner on LIVING WATERS for the Gavin van Zyl stable in the 2nd race.

Anton Marcus only had 5 rides today, but made the most of them tallying 50 points and riding two winners – HEROIC DEED (Race 1) and IMPERIAL RAGE (Race 3).

Paul Lafferty’s BINT EL MALAK triumphed in the final race of the day at Hollywoodbets Scottsville, taking the filly’s lead to 15 points at the top of the horse challenge. 2 wins and 2 seconds from her 4 runs, makes this daughter of King’s Chapel (Aus) a very strong contender to go all the way!

Paul Lafferty, ultra-consistent as always, was the top points scorer on the day with 53 points from his 6 runners. He remains the leader of the trainer challenge, just 18 points clear of Garth Puller. Gareth van Zyl’s double with HEROIC DEED and CANDY GALORE, and 44 points from the meeting, moves him into 7th spot on the log, and striking distance of Dennis Drier in the 6th place money spot.
