Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Monday’s racing at Kempton Park.
Kempton Park Best Bets
Race 1: LUA DE MEL (1)
Trainer: George Boughey
Jockey: Ben Curtis
Partridge is almost certainly better than she showed on seasonal debut at Chelmsford but even in receipt of 10lb from LUA DE MEL she may struggle to cope with that unbeaten foe. The selection is two from two for her second season handler and can repeat the forcing tactics that saw her come home unchallenged at Newcastle last week.
Race 2: MOCHALOV (3) (Each Way)
Trainer: Jane Chapple-Hyam
Jockey: Adam Kirby
MOCHALOV is a horse that needs plenty of luck in running which makes being drawn on the rail a hindrance rather than an advantage but granted racing real estate in the closing stages he can have a big say. He seemed a tad unlucky when beaten in a triple photo at Lingfield and has been afforded a freshening month to get over that.
Race 7: SHAFFIRE (12)
Trainer: Harry Whittington
Jockey: Nicola Currie
If turning out again just 48 hours after a good effort at Lingfield, SHAFFIRE can give this a good shot and show how unlucky she might have been. From off the pace, she was clearly going best early in the home straight and after being switched ran on to beat all but The Warrior. It was her second near-miss in as many starts, and he can go one better.
