Jockeys ride horses

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Monday’s racing at Ayr and Kempton Park

Ayr Best Bets

Race 1: AURORA THUNDER (4)
Trainer: Lucinda Russell
Jockey: Blair Campbell
With the likely favourite Elle Est Grande having been beaten a long way last time AURORA THUNDER is a logical value alternative in this mares’ maiden hurdle. The form of her latest outing at Kelso is working out with the horse that finished behind her in fourth winning, while if taking to these softer conditions she’ll be a threat to all.
Race 3: ETTILA DE SIVOLA (2)
Trainer: James Ewart
Jockey: Nick Schofield
The lightly-raced ETTILA DE SIVOLA is brim full of potential and has undergone wind surgery since his latest start at Haydock back in March. In three starts in bumpers and hurdle races he showed plenty of ability and with the benefit of the subsequent breathing operation he’s ready to strike on chase debut.
Kempton Park Best Bets
Race 5: YA HAYATI (12)
Trainer: Charlie Appleby
Jockey: William Buick
Over this mile YA HAYATI should have sufficient distance and time to eradicate a terrible draw widest of the 13 runners. If he can achieve that the Godolphin-owned colt has it in him to recoup the losses sustained on him on his debut over course and distance. He was a bit keen for his own good that day, but this time his rider will have plenty of opportunity to get him to settle.
Race 6: I’LLETYOUGONOW  (12)
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: Silvestre de Sousa
For a filly that is happy contesting the lead, I’LLETYOUGONOW has a perfect draw from which to obtain a handy position over this mile. She was competitive throughout her recent Windsor race, leading on several occasions before eventually succumbing to Leader Writer. She has the right jockey to get the best out of her and holds a decent Win and Place chance.
