LUDLOW

Race 3 – EL SAVIOUR 18/10

EL SAVIOUR could be the answer to the Derek And Elaine Thompson 59th Celebration Handicap Hurdle.

There was much to like about his recent Warwick win when upped in trip and it makes sense to stick to that same two-mile-five-furlong distance here.

Legionar lost his way for the previous yard, but looks to be on a decent mark making stable debut. Won his novice hurdle by ten lengths in 2022 and booking Harry Cobden catches the eye.

Race 4 – JACAMAR 6/1

It is interesting to see Cobden pick up the spare aboard JACAMAR in the Weatherbys nhstallions.co.uk Boyne Cup, with the nine-year-old a long way below his most recent success on ratings.

The main danger comes from Georges Saint who won twice tackling shorter trips earlier in the season. Likely has more to offer attempting the journey and is seriously considered racing for a stable in form.

One True King and Jet Plane should also make your shortlist.

Race 5 – PASSING KATE 7/2

PASSING KATE can be forgiven her most recent outing at Hereford and the HR.Smith Handicap Hurdle looks much more her cup of tea.

Flat winner Balhambar improved to finish third at Huntingdon last start. That was his debut for Harry Derham and further progress is expected now switching to handicaps, so will be challenging for top honours.

Race 6 – ISKANDAR PECOS 72/100

ISKANDAR PECOS produced a ready 14-length win tackling this trip at Leicester. Remains on the up and is fancied giving weight all round in the Weatherbysshop.Co.Uk Open Hunters’ Chase.

Senior Citizen was well beaten making hunter chase debut in January. Likely to improve fitness-wise for that run. Key player based on the pick of his form among handicap company.

Before Midnight appeared to be struggling from his mark contesting handicaps earlier in the season. Switching to this sphere will make things easier.

Race 3 – KING’S CORONATION 13/10

KING’S CORONATION is backed to take a step forward from his course-and-distance debut to wear the crown in the Get Raceday Ready Maiden Stakes.

The Clarehaven colt was fifth on that occasion but showed glimpses of real promise and given the stable’s newcomers are often left a bit to learn, he could make massive strides here to open his account.

Race 4 – HORSE WHISPERER 3/1

Keep the faith with Southwell third HORSE WHISPERER in the Free Digital Racecard At raceday-ready.com Fillies’ Handicap, who will again be partnered by Silvestre de Sousa.

Chris Dwyer’s filly has been dropped a 1lb for that respectable effort and although a buzzy character who can often do too much in the early part of her races, she is now just 1lb above her last winning figure.

Race 6 – TAMARIS 2/1

TAMARIS scored over two miles at Kempton on his final outing representing previous connections nine weeks ago.

James Owen does well with his new recruits and this gelded son of Dansili can make it two from two on the Tapeta.

Tarbat Ness produced a solid effort when runner-up tackling heavy ground at Catterick in October. Firmly in the mix with first-time blinkers applied providing seasonal reappearance.

Baileys Warrior and Smokey Malone both look like they could get involved too.

Race 8 – TROJAN TRUTH 17/10

Liam Wright rode TROJAN TRUTH to victory over course and distance last month and a 3.3lb rise in the weights might not be enough to prevent the pair from scoring again in the Get Raceday Ready Handicap.

Calcutta Dream did well finishing runner-up to an in-form horse attempting 1m2f at Chelmsford in latest. Encountered a progressive rival when going down by a nose tackling track and trip prior. Could get involved once more.

Market support for the feasibly-treated Pink Jazz would be interesting given his shrewd connections, while Bristol Hill looks interesting from an each-way perspective.
