MAGIC CHOICE has shown good improvement in her last two starts with the blinkers fitted. She was reported to be not striding out last time which makes the effort that much more encouraging. She does not meet the strongest line-up this afternoon and should shed her maiden tag.

CORNISH POMODORO has good recent form to his credit. He stayed on strongly to finish second in the Listed Drum Star Handicap last time. He is the best-weighted runner in this contest and can get back to winning ways.

FLORENTINE followed up her maiden win with a good fourth-place finish over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. She raced from a handy position that day and found another kick in the closing stages. The daughter of Ideal World drops to Handicap company this afternoon and should strip much fitter. She looks to have ability and should take a power of beating.

STORMY WINTER ran a fair race in his last start over 1400m. He finished 2.5 lengths behind STARFLASH that day and is 5.5kgs better off at the weights. That should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won three times from four starts over this C&D. Apprentice Xola Jacobs takes the 4kgs off his back and he can return to winning ways.
