It must be noted that the horse that finished seventh that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Judpot gets her sex allowance and should improve to win this contest.
Race 2: BAT OUT OF HELL (7)
Jockey: Maujean C – Trainer: Sham D
BAT OUT OF HELL has produced two good efforts to date, the latest of which was over this C&D. She jumped inwards at the start last time, but stayed on nicely at the finish. The daughter of Querari looks to be a progressive type and can go one better here.

IRISH WILLOW is the best bet on the card. The daughter of Linngari should have won her last start when taking on the males. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests she will be at home over today’s distance. Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and the combination should take a power of beating.
Race 6: FOREVER MINE (3)
Jockey: Zackey C – Trainer: De Kock M
FOREVER MINE was not disgraced when finishing second in the Grade 3 Graham Beck Stakes last time. He set the pace that day, but was outrun in the latter stages by stable companion Malmoos. The son of Vercingetorix returns from a 16-week break today, during which time he would have strengthened up. He is suited to the drop in trip and if not in need of the run, should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

Race 5: THE FIFTH WAVE (3)
Jockey: Maujean C – Trainer: Sham D
THE FIFTH WAVE is the value bet on this afternoon’s programme. She finished 1 length behind MAY QUEEN in her last start. She is 5.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has finished second twice and third once from five starts over this C&D. The daughter of Crusade will be staying on strongly at the business end.
