Magic Tips Best Bets

TOP BET FOR TODAY
Race 3: PUSH OFF (2)
Jockey: Lerena G  Trainer: De Kock M

PUSH OFF is the best bet on the programme. He produced a promising debut effort over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was encouraging. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of No Nay Never would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.

Race 5: MARYGOLD (3)

Jockey: Khumalo S  Trainer: Laird A

MARYGOLD is much better than her last start in the Woolavington 2000 at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She was not disgraced when finishing not too far off Summer Pudding in each of the Triple Tiara legs. The daughter of Flower Alley returns from a 21-week break today, which may have done her the world of good. She is the best-weighted runner in this contest and if not in need of the run, she should take a power of beating.

Race 7: SPANISH BOY (3)

Jockey: Strydom P  Trainer: Houdalakis M

SPANISH BOY has very good consistent form lines to his credit. He was running on too late over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. He has won twice, finished second twice and third twice from seven starts over this distance. Piere Strydom knows him well and the combination should take a power of beating.

Race 9: WINE TASTING (1)

Jockey: Kennedy W  Trainer: Peter P

WINE TASTING was well-beaten into second by Malmoos who has won a feature race since. She set the pace that day and stayed on at the finish. The daughter of Byword shed her maiden tag on this course. She takes a significant drop in class this afternoon and should take a power of beating.

VALUE BET

Race 4: IRREVOCABLE DREA (10)
Jockey: Zuma M H – Trainer: Laird A

IRREVOCABLE DREAM finished 2.5 lengths behind CROWN GUARDIAN last time. He is 6.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. If putting his best foot forward, he may be the one to side with.
