An extremely tricky all workrider’s maiden raceday and obvious caution is advised. However, the top class workrider’s have the majority of the best rides and their expertise will count. Francis Semela partners the likely favourite LE CLOS in this opening event and the Mike Azzie inmate is the form runner who could emerge victorious. The expensive son of Jay Peg has shown decent ability in his four runs to date and he fought hard when runner-up over six furlongs on his sand debut, two weeks ago. He should easily handle this extra distance and will have lots more improvement to come. His good draw is an obvious plus and he can go one better.
Race 3: BOOGALOO(6)
Jockey: !Mabaya C – Trainer: Matchett P F
This is a competitive contest but the speedy BOOGALOO is coming along the right way and he should take all the beating. The Paul Matchett inmate has made huge improvement in his last two c & d runs and he briefly threatened to upset the ultra-consistent, feature placed Magic last time out. He was in turn, one and a half lengths ahead of SILVERDREAM RACER that day but has plenty more to offer and should confirm the form. He gets the services of a quality workrider.
Race 6: LEGO HOUSE(1)

LEGO HOUSE badly needed his poor comeback run and he showed decent ability prior to that. He will be fitter today and should relish this nine furlongs on this testing surface. There could be heaps of improvement to come from the Weiho Marwing inmate who gets the services of a decent workrider.
Race 7: MR BALBOA(2)
MR BALBOA bounced back to form when he tired late into 4th behind a subsequent winner over nine furlongs on the grass, five weeks ago. He finished just under two lengths behind ICY AVALANCHE that day but his workrider will now know all about his short but effective turn of foot. The four-year old gelding produced his career best effort over this distance on debut and he could be a real force, if handling the sand. Francis Semela retains the ride on the Mike Azzie yard.

Once again there are plenty of form runners in this contest and an exciting clash is expected. BLUEMO- ONRUSH flopped badly over further on this track last time but she had an eye-catching penultimate run over this c & d. She ran on again for 4th in a competitive line-up behind a subsequent winner and that formline could be worth following in this event. She has plenty to find with the likely favourite and form runner RAIN IN AFRICA but the daughter of Windrush could get much closer this time around. She is the only ride of popular workrider Phillip Mlangeni.
