Warren Lenferna: Fairview Tips – Friday 20 March 2020

Warren Lenferna at the Hollywoodbets Sizzling Summer Challenge Handover

Warren Lenferna takes a look at today’s eight-race programme taking place at Fairview.

Race 1:
STRANGER DANGER (11) was priced up favourite and has been backed at the time of writing. This is no surprise as the Smith stable is in mustard form and Jockey Log leader Warren Kennedy flies into town to ride. This two year old colt could be anything. Obvious respect for the Greeff first-timers as well.

Race 2:
FAMOUS ORATOR (1) returns from a long rest and might need but has the Cape Town form to win. SHADES OF BLU (2) is my narrow first choice. BENGAL CRIMSON (5) and BLUE DUCHESS (7) should run absolute crackers in their local debuts. Include them in most bets.

Race 3:
Nothing really sticks out here. GIBRAL DE ROCHE (2) can be forgiven for his last run which was in KZN – he could go very close in his local debut. MARY LEE (7) improved out of sight last time and now gets visiting rider Richard Fourie – big runner!

Race 4:
MERYL (2) has been supported in the betting market and why not? She takes on the boys but that is not a worry for me. She won well last time and looks set to win again. Stablemate ONTENDERHOOKS (4) could fill the exacta position.

Race 5:
GLORY DAYS (2) has the form to be very competitive again and one cannot help get the feeling that KEEPER OF THE KEYS (8) is way better than her last run – include her in most bets but a competitive event.

Race 6:
AMERICAN LANDING (1) disappointed me last time as he was a beaten red hot favourite and I thought he was hard to beast! Be that as it may, that is water under the bridge and possibly today he will reward me for my loyalty to him. He has another chance with me. He is talented; a smart looking well-bred son of Dynasty and in this field should be hard to beat. Possible exactas with EARTH HOUR (3) and DESERT CHIEF (7).

Race 7:
A tough, tough race and we could be in for a humdinger! DELICASEA (2) is unbeaten and impressed in both victories. Huge chance of remaining unbeaten after this race but Cheyne does not ride? ETERNAL HOPE (3) (Cheyne’s ride) ran an okay race in Cape Town and could bounce right back to winning ways. FAVORITA (4) comes from Cape Town and has obvious strong winning claims and STORYLAND (8) was a bit stubborn on debut but once deciding to play the game, thrashed the opposition.

Race 8:
A MR 68 Handicap so go cautiously and include as many as your bank manager says you can! All of BORN A BULLY (5), BIG MYTH (6) and GOLD PACT (7) could represent some each-way value. SAUVAGE (13) is improving quickly since relocating to PE and looks ready to finally record his second career win.
