Race 6

ANGEL CAPITAL finished strongly to put 2.3L between himself and the opposition to win on debut over 1000M, despite having to be eased at the 600M mark. The colt finished off his race powerfully and would have come on further with that run under his belt. He faces a wide draw eleven, but he should be doing his best work late.

EL MORZILLO is a filly taking on the boys, but she is seldom far off the action and was bumped at the start and had to be held up at the 250M pole when finishing fourth last time out over 1200M, just under a length and a half back from the victor, but that was in a Group 2 event. She is drawn one inside the top pick and is likely to turn in another honest performance here.

ZOUNA missed out on his hat-trick after victories over 1100M and 1000M when finishing third last time out over the same sprint trip, 2.8L behind the winner, but it should be noted that he was crowded at the 800M, becoming unbalanced and hitting the running rail. From his kinder gate five, he should be included in all bets. There is an unraced runner in the field, so keep an eye on the betting markets to get some indication as to whether his connections believe that they can win first time out. Any betting support for him should be respected.

Race 7

PARISAL was returning from an 18-week rest and notwithstanding shifting out between the 150M and 100M mark, he won his last start over 1100M by a half-length. She gets a handy draw four and could complete a quick double.

CHINNY BOOM followed up her penultimate run victory over 1100M with a third-place finish next time out over 1200M, two and a half lengths back from the winner. She struck the front at the top of the home straight that day, but was run out of it late. She has cracked pole position and should be right up there when they hit the line.

PARTY FOR TWO also won her penultimate start, but in her case over 1200M and then tried to go from jump to wire before ending up in third place last timeout over 1000M, just a half-length off the winner. From her wide draw ten, she is likely to attempt similar frontrunning tactics today.

Race 8

I WISH I WIN has solid Group 1 form and was only beaten a neck when finishing third last time out over 1200M (G1), but he jumped awkwardly on that occasion, bumping another runner. The gelding was returning from a 25-week break that day and the form of that race has stood up well with two runners out of that contest subsequently winning. He is sure to put his pole position to good use and is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card to give champion jockey James McDonald the winner of the second and third legs of the Jackpot.

ESPIONA is a 5-year old mare taking on males, but she is a Group 1 winner who finished seventh in her latest outing over 1400M, 8.2L adrift of the winner, but she was reported to have not acted in the very heavy going that day, so that effort is best ignored. She is drawn the widest of them all in gate nine, but she may well emerge as the biggest threat to the top choice.

PRIVATE EYE attempted to go from gun to tape when ending up in third spot last time out over 1400M (G1), 3.2L behind the winner and has had a subsequent barrier trial. He battled all the way down to the wire that day and from draw six, he should be involved in the finish.

Race 9

The day’s value bet, GOLD BULLION used frontrunning tactics, but hung out over the closing stages hampering the original second placed horse in the process, with the resultant objection being upheld and the positions revered. The gelding has pulled a useful draw four and he could prove difficult to reel in over the latter stages.

He renews his rivalry with TANNHAUSER who came the widest of them all into the home stretch, but stayed on well all the way down to the line to finish fourth in the race mentioned above, some 1.2L behind the winner. The gelding jumps from gate seven and as the pair meet on the same weight terms today, he may find that he has to settle for the same result.

AUTUMN ANGEL is a 3-year-old filly taking on boys, but she has won two of her last three starts and finished second in the other, so she clearly has some ability. She jumped awkwardly bumping another runner, but finished strongly from some way back to claim victory in her last outing over 2400M by 0,8L. She will have to negotiate a wide draw fourteen, but she is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then start to pick off the front runners over the latter part of the race.
