Race 4

AMEN BROTHER has consistent formlines to his name and raced three wide throughout before striking the front at the top of the home straight, only to be run out of it late, ending up in fourth place last time out over 1600M, 0.7L behind the winner. He has a handy draw three and should turn in another honest performance and is taken to be the value bet on the day’s card.

TIZSO FAB was hampered at the start but still showed solid improvement to finish second last time out over 1500M, 0.8L back from the victor. He just failed to run down the leaders that day and whilst drawn wideish in gate eight, he should be doing his best work late.

IMASUPERSTAR followed up his penultimate run victory over 1300M with a third-place finish next time out over 1400M, just over two lengths back from the winner, this after making good late progress over the closing stages and the form of that race has been franked. The gelding is drawn one inside the latter and will be having his peak run after returning from a 15-week rest.

Race 5

The day’s best bet, HULM has only had two runs to date, finishing ninth on debut over 1200M and then showing the expected improvement to win next time out over 1000M, albeit by just a head. He was having his first run for his new trainer that day and returning from a lengthy 72-week spell, but he showed plenty of toe and from pole position, he could prove hard to reel in over the latter stages to give jockey Jason Lyon the first two winners of the Jackpot.

A 3-year-old and a 4-year-old filly could chase him home, with the slight preference going to BRENLYN’S DAISY who is seldom far off the action, finishing fourth last time out over 1200M, just under one and a half lengths back from the winner, but she raced three wide without cover in that event, before battling all the way down to the wire. From her useful draw four, she may emerge as the biggest threat to the top pick.

WANALOAN was having her first run for her new trainer and returning from a 35-week break when finishing third last time out over 1000M, just under a length and a half off the winner. She is drawn one inside the latter and should be involved in the finish.

Race 6

This looks to be a tricky race with plenty of runners in with a realistic chance of finding the winner’s box, so some caution is suggested. YOUR NOT THE BOSS won over 1300M three runs back, finished fourth in his penultimate start over 1400M and then fifth in his latest outing over 1600M, 3.7L adrift of the winner, but it should be noted that he jumped awkwardly on that occasion, bumping another runner and then raced in restricted room from the 200M pole. From gate five and with better luck in running, he could be the one that they all have to beat.

VEGAS DREAM is the stable companion of the top choice and who won his penultimate outing over 1300M and then finished third next time out over the same trip, just under a half-length behind the victor, but he had to be held up between the 400M and 300M mark that day and his jockey put up 0.5kgs overweight. The gelding returns here after a 20-week rest without having had the benefit of a barrier trial, so his fitness will have to be taken on trust, but he gets a cosy draw four and makes a solid backup for the yard.

O’REG has consistent formlines to his credit and came three wide into the home stretch, but finished off his race well to end up in third place last time out over 1200M, 0.7L behind the winner. He faces a wide draw twelve, but he is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then start to pick off the front runners over the latter part of the race.

Race 7

Three 4-year-old fillies could fight out the finish to this race and complete the trifecta, but SWIFT ENUFF is taken to lead the field home. She has won two of her last four starts and followed up her penultimate start victory over 1065M with a sixth-place finish last time out over 1000M, 2.3L back from the winner. She raced up with the front runner that day, only to be run out of it late. She has her peak run after returning from a 21-week rest and whilst drawn wideish in gate eight, she will be hoping to chalk up her third career win here.

RUMOURS ABOUND missed out on her hat-trick after two victories over 1000M when finishing a disappointing sixteenth in her penultimate start over 1100M, 14.5L adrift of the victor and was immediately rested for 30 weeks. She then raced three wide without cover when finishing fourth on her return over 1000M, one and a half lengths behind the winner and would have come on further with that run under her belt. The filly is drawn the widest of them all in gate fifteen, but she should use her early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy.

ALTROVE raced three wide throughout when finishing tenth in her latest outing over 1175M, 4.2L back from the winner, so she had her excuse. She returns here after a 13-week rest without having had the benefit of a barrier trial and will have to overcome a wide draw nine, but she will have 4kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice and should be included in all bets.
