Race 4

LA SANTE won over 1400M three runs back, finished third in his penultimate start over 1000M and then second in his latest outing back over 1200M, one and a half lengths behind the winner. He was returning from a 70-week spell that day and having his first run for his new trainer when finishing strongly from some way back. The gelding is drawn the widest of them all in gate nine, but he should be doing his best work late and is taken to be the value bet on the day’s card.

SPITFIRE is seldom too far off the action and made good late progress when finishing sixth last time out over 1600M, just over three and a half lengths back from the winner, but that was at a stronger centre. From his handy draw three, he should be right up there when they hit the line.

READY TO HUMBLE raced just behind the speed and stayed on well when finishing fifth in his latest outing over 1400M, just over two and a half lengths back from the winner. The gelding is drawn one outside the latter and will have 2kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice.

Race 5

KING DE LUNE won his maiden race last time out over 1400M by one and a half lengths at the third time of asking, despite being hampered at the start. He delivered a powerful finish over the closing stages and whilst taking on stronger here and having to deal with a wide gate twelve, he may well be up to the task at hand.

HE’S MY WARRIOR has consistent formlines to his name, finishing second last time out over 1400M, just under a half-length off the victor, notwithstanding being held up approaching the home turn. He would have come on further with that run under his belt and although drawn wideish in gate eight, he should turn in another honest performance today.

BRAVISSIMA is a 3-year-old filly taking on the boys, but she raced wide throughout and stayed on well over the latter stages to finish sixth last time out over 1300M, four lengths behind the winner and on that effort, she should enjoy the extra ground on offer here. The filly is drawn wide in gate ten, but she should be included in all bets.

Race 6

The day’s best bet, STARLIGHT GIRL is a 3-year-old filly taking on boys, but she goes for her hat-trick after victories over 900M and the latest over 1000M by 0.8L. She jumped awkwardly on that occasion, but recovered quickly to take up the lead and then fought off all the late challengers in the dash down to the wire. She has pulled a wideish gate eight, but she could prove difficult to reel in over the latter stages.

SUPER SUNNY SEEYA was returning from a 15-week rest and chased hard before finishing fifth last time out over 1600M, just under three and a half lengths adrift of the victor. He gets a set of blinkers re-fitted and if this move has the desired effect, he should be a big runner here.

COUNT NICHOLAS was returning from a longer 22-week absence when finishing sixth last time out over 1000M, 4.2L back from the winner. The gelding is drawn one inside the latter and will also have blinkers re-fitted for today’s run.

Race 7

ALL ASTERN is a 4-year-old filly taking on boys, but she showed marked improvement to finish second last time out over 1175M, just a neck behind the winner. She clearly needed the rest and from gate six and with the services of a 2kg claiming apprentice, she looks to be the one that they all have to beat.

MAGMETRIC was returning from a shorter 17-week rest and was trapped wide throughout when ending up in eighth spot last time out over 1400M, just under seven and a half lengths behind the winner. The gelding gets blinkers re-fitted and could emerge as the biggest threat to the top pick.

CHAMPAGNE SHARON is another 4-year-old filly in the race and followed up her penultimate run victory over 1000M with a seventh-place finish next time out over 1175M, 4.3L back from the winner, but she jumped awkwardly that day. She has her peak run after returning from a 20-week spell and for her new trainer and from her kinder draw four, she should be involved in the finish.
