Race 6

STEFI MAGNETICA is a 3-year-old filly taking on the boys, but she was slow away and bumped shortly after the start and had to be held up at the 200M mark when not get the clearest of passages in the home straight, ending up in fifth place last time out over 1200M (G1), just a length and a half behind the winner. She was returning from an 11-week rest that day and from her handy draw two, she looks to be the one to side with here.

CORNICHE had his consistency rewarded with a half-length victory last time out over 1200M (G3). The colt hit the line hard that day and whilst drawn wide in gate nine, he could be good enough to chalk up a quick double.

SCHWARZ jumped awkwardly bumping another runner, but recovered quickly to pick up the lead and then held off all the late challengers in the dash down to the line to win his last start over 1400M (G3) by 1.8L and has won a subsequent barrier trial. The form of that race has also stood up well with two runners out of that contest subsequently winning and from draw five, he should be included in all bets.

Race 7

The day’s value bet, I WISH I WIN is a Group 1 winner who has consistent formlines to his name and was bumped at the start and shifted out the early stages of the race before striking the front at the entrance to the home straight, only to be grabbed in the shadow of the post for a short-head defeat last time out over 1200M (G1). The gelding has cracked pole position and may prove to be hard to topple.

IN SECRET is a 4-year-old filly taking on males, but she is a two-time Group 1 winner who finished third last time out over 1200M (G1), 1.3L behind the victor and the form of that race has been franked. She returns from a 29-week break, but has had three barrier trials, winning the latest. She has pulled a useful gate four and should be right up there when they hit the line.

THINK ABOUT IT is also a two-time Group 1 winner. He finished eleventh in his latest outing over 1600M, 3.2L back from the winner, but that was in heavy going and he did not quite see out the journey. The gelding has a wideish draw eight, but he should do better dropping back to what appears to be a more suitable trip.

Race 8

AUTUMN ANGEL is a 3-year-old filly taking on boys, but she has won two of her last four starts and finished second in the other two, the latest over 2000M (G3), just a length off the winner. She delivered a powerful finish from too far back that day and on that effort, she should appreciate the extra ground on offer here. The filly is sure to put her pole position to good use and is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card.

TANNHAUSER kicked clear of the field at the 150M mark to win his last start over 2000M (G1) by a length, easing down. The gelding has a cosy draw three and should keep the top pick honest.

WARMONGER is seldom far off the action, finishing second last time out over 2500M (G1), 1.3L back from the winner. He jumped awkwardly in that event and raced four wide without cover, before chasing hard over the latter stages. The gelding will have to negotiate a wide draw twenty-three, but he is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then start to pick off the front runners over the latter part of the race.

Race 9

COEUR VOLANTE missed out on her quartet of victories when finishing fourth last time out over 1600M, 2.7L behind the winner. She returns from a 28-week break without having had the benefit of a barrier trial, so her fitness will have to be taken on trust, but she will nevertheless be hoping to bounce back to winning ways here.

COMRADE ROSA won over 1200M three runs back, finished third in her penultimate start over the same sprint trip and then fifth in her latest outing, again over 1200M, just over four and a half lengths adrift of the victor, but she was slow away on that occasion, before staying on well over the latter stages. The mare was returning from an 18-week rest that day and would have come on further with that run under her belt. From her handy draw three, she should turn in another honest performance today.

MOESHA has finished third in all three of her runs to date, the latest over 1200M (G2), 1.8L behind the winner, despite being hampered at the 900M pole, before finishing strongly from the second half of the field. She gets draw six and should not be easily discarded.
