Race 7

ZOE’S PROMISE went from jump to wire to put four lengths between herself and the opposition to win her last start over 1400M. She was returning from a 17-week break that day and from her draw seven, she is likely to attempt similar frontrunning tactics today and could be hard to reel in over the closing stages.

THALASSOPHILE had her consistency rewarded with a one-and-a-half-length victory last time out over 1400M (Listed Race), despite losing a shoe in running. She will have to negotiate a wide draw eleven, but she should be doing her best work late.

OSMOSE won over 1900M (G3) three runs back, finished thirteenth in her penultimate start over 1600M and then sixth in her latest outing over 1800M, 4.2L behind the winner, when trying to go from gun to tape. She jumps from a wideish gate eight, but the drop in distance should be to her liking and she should be included in all bets.

Race 8

MOLLY BLOOM has won three of her last five starts and followed up her penultimate start victory over 2000M with a second-place finish next time out over 1800M, 1.8L back from the winner in very heavy going, but she was bumped at the 1400M mark and had to be held up at the top of the home straight, before finishing off her race well. She gets a handy draw four and will be looking to bounce back to winning ways today.

TUTTA LA VITA came three wide into the home straight, but stayed on well to finish fifth last time out over 2400M (G1), just under three and a half lengths back from the winner and has finished fourth in a subsequent barrier trial. The form of that race has been franked and from one gate inside the top pick, she should be right up there when they hit the line.

AMAZONIAN LASS finished powerfully from some way back to win her last start over 1800M by 1.8L. She on the other hand faces a wide draw fifteen, but she has her peak run after returning from a 24-week break and is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then start to pick off the front runners over the latter part of the race.

Race 9

KOVALICA put his disappointing penultimate start over 2000M (G1) behind him when finishing third next time out over 1800M (G2), just over one and a half lengths back from the winner, but he raced wide throughout on that occasion and gave the winner too much start entering the home straight. The gelding has a useful draw three and will be looking to make amends here and as such, is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card.

NUMERIAN has won two of his last three starts and raced wide throughout before striking the front at the 200M mark to win going away in his latest outing over 1800M (G2) by one and a half lengths. The gelding was returning from an 18-week rest on that occasion and from gate seven, she could be the biggest danger to the top choice.

DETONATOR JACK is seldom far off the action and chased hard when finishing second last time out over 1600M, just a short head back from the winner. Although drawn wider in gate ten, she should turn in another honest performance today to be involved in the finish.

Race 10

The day’s value bet, HERE TO SHOCK has consistent formlines to his name and followed up his penultimate run victory over 1400M with a second-place finish next time out over 1600M, beaten just a short-head, but it should be noted that he jumped awkwardly and overraced in the middle stages in that event. Nevertheless, he kept on chasing, only to be denied victory in the shadow of the post. The gelding has pulled a cosy draw four and will be looking to secure his ninth career win.

VILANA was returning from a 19-week spell and was bumped at the start, but stayed on well to finish second last time out over 1200M (G3), 0.8L off the winner. He faces a wideish draw eight but would have come on further with that last run under his belt.

FREEDOM RALLY has cracked pole position and has won two of his last four outings, finishing third over 1200M in his latest start over 1200M, 0.7L behind the victor, when returning from a 16-week break. He was however hampered at the 1000M pole that day, but hit the line hard and should not be easily dismissed in this line-up.
