Kranji tips – Saturday 25 May 2024

RACE 1 – Time: 06:30 | Class 5 Handicap | 1200m

Selections: 7/1/4

SIRIUS has started to improve in his last few performances. Stayed on well last start behind Fast And Fearless and did the same the start prior. Okay draw and in-form jockey onboard, one to follow. SILVER DRAGON finds it easier now dropping down to class 5. Drawn in pole position and should be in the first three or four in running. In-form and leading stable.

RACE 2 – Time: 07:00 | Open Maiden | 1400m

Selections: 6/11/1

FLYING FIGHTER enjoyed two great runs in maiden company most recently. Tries the extra 200m and should get a good run from barrier four with Nunes onboard. SPIETH HEROINE is a filly who hasn’t had the best of luck in the past. Good form lines coming out of her last race behind Tommy Gun finishing third. She’s been waiting to break though and gets another chance this week from a perfect barrier.

RACE 3 – Time: 07:30 | Class 5 Handicap | 1700m

Selections: 1/10/7

BLUE IDOL drops back to class five here for the Le Grange stable. The last time he was in this grade was November last year beating Luck Of Master. Proven in this grade and trip. He will go close in this. PACIFIC BEAUTY sees Daniel Moor take the ride from barrier nine. Not a very big filly and will look to settle in a positive position from that wide draw. She won her only victory on this surface and expect support.

RACE 4 – Time: 08:00 | Class 5 Handicap | 1400m

MASTER PLAYER has been improving with each run this season. Suitable over shorter and longer trips. Gets apprentice claim this week and must be respected here. VERY SURPRISE had a good win last start. Flew home from near last and comes down to 1400m this time. He can find it hard to hold form but will drop back from the wide gate and look to run on late.

RACE 5 – Time: 08:30 | Class 4 Handicap | 1800m

SMART STAR swaps over to the turf surface after two very unlucky runs where he has finished second and third in what probably should have been wins had the luck swung his way. Stick with him here. Pinheiro has been called upon to turn his luck around. JUNGLE CRUISE draws well for our leading jockey Bruno Queiroz. Wasn’t at his best last start when began awkwardly and was hunted forward. He is better than that and looking for him to bounce back here.

RACE 6 – Time: 09:00 | Class 5 Handicap | 1700m

GOLD LEGEND has turned his form around after a couple of disappointing performances in the past, finishing second to Tony’s Love last time out. That was his career-best run here in Singapore. Drawn well this time with Curatolo in the saddle. FORTUNE STAR’s last two runs have been encouraging, both over the mile on the Polytrack. Gets the in-form jockey Bruno Queiroz in the saddle from a decent draw. Should be considered again here.

RACE 7 – Time: 09:30 | Class 4 Handicap | 1400m

PACIFIC WARRIOR’s only victory in Singapore came over this trip back in the middle part of last year. In a race that is full of top chances this gelding gets a great draw in (3) for Daniel Moor. Ran a top second last start. JIN SAKAMOTO got a nice win off the back of a strong trial last start in yielding conditions. Doesn’t get many favours from a wide draw and Nunes will have to be at his absolute best to get him home. With luck he can go back-to-back.

RACE 8 – Time: 10:00 | Class 3 Handicap | 1800m

Selections: 8/2/1

LIGHTNING STRIKE may be the lowest-rated horse in the field, but he brings some nice ability as he heads towards the Four-Year-Old series next month. This will be a nice guide heading to those races and draws well for the in-form Fitzsimmons stable. ENERGY BABY looked the winner everywhere but the line when Flying Nemo at big odds upset the party last Saturday. He is a talented type who always puts in a strong fight.

RACE 9 – Time: 10:30 | Class 5 Handicap | 1400m

Selections: 4/3/1

LIM’S DREAMWALKER had a huge run last start, was caught wide and a long way off the leader. He is back to his preferred distance of 1400m and gets Lerner onboard, in with a chance. CONTARELLI couldn’t have asked for a better class 5 debut last start just beaten by a better horse on the day (Pacific Star). Stays in 1400m and will look to drop back and run on late.

Race 10 – Time: 11:00 | Class 4 Handicap | 1200m

Selections: 2/8/5

KING ZOUSTAR ran another brave second last weekend which was his first start on the turf for a quite a while. Returns to the Polytrack and Queiroz will look to give him a good ride from the inside barrier. PER INCROWN loves this course and distance with a record of 29:5-4-5 to his name. Nunes has been called upon by Singapore’s leading trainer and that is a strong push for this last race. Watch betting moves.
