She was 2nd best behind the highly rated Elle Est Noire that day and was expectedly outclassed in a subsequent feature over this c & d. The bay daughter of Gimmethegr- eenlight should have more progress to come back in maiden company and she jumps from a midfield draw.

ZALIKA has ultra-consistent form and though she is proving costly to follow, this slight drop in trip could be ideal for the daughter of Bold Silvano who was outrun late into 2nd over a mile two weeks ago.

There are two solid frontrunners in the form of TOMBODI and SOVIET COSMONAUT in this competitive mile handicap and the pair should ensure a smart tempo. Of course both entrants have solid credentials and will deservedly have many supporters. That said, their likely fast gallop should suit the Dynasty gelding, ARABIAN DYNASTY who comes here seeking a four-timer. He was raised four pounds for his last triumph but clearly had a bit in hand that day and the best drawn entrant is again the one to beat.

The day’s topliner is a listed contest over a mile which sees a decent field clash and the in-form yards of trainers Tara Laing and Alan Greeff could be worth following. The former Gauteng resident SECRET STAR has remained in the province after her fair last feature sprint and she has of course joined the Laing yard. The step-up to the mile will prove no issue for the daughter of Pathfork who finished just over one length adrift of former Grade 1 Victress Nother Russia in her only display over this distance. Her good draw is an obvious plus.
