Magic Tips Best Bets
Race 4: EASY PEASY(1)
Jockey: M V.Rensburg – Trainer: W Miller
EASY PEASY did almost everything right when she was caught late over slightly shorter in her expected improved second local start. Nevertheless, she finished more than five lengths clear of the next placed entrant CHAPEL LASS and she should handle the mile from her good draw.

Race 6: SULTRY(1)
Jockey: M V.Rensburg – Trainer: W G C Miller
SULTRY had a facile recent mile triumph over EUAN’ ME (2.5kgs better off) and despite the resultant five pound penalty, she can confirm the form from her good draw. The bay mare is even better over this extra furlong. The latter should negotiate her wide berth once again but the extra furlong is a serious worry though the weights favour her.

Race 7: TIMKAT(7)
Jockey: C Storey– Trainer: W G C Miller
The day’s topliner is a most intriguing Pinnacle Stakes event where the official ratings may not be the best guide. The talk of the town during the winter has been the top selection TIMKAT who continues to impress in this province. The c & d specialist is naturally out at the weights in his ‘acid’ test today but clearly has more scope for progress and could again prove equal to the task.

TIMKAT(7) |
Race 9: SWEET PLEASURES(2)
Jockey: W Agrella – Trainer: D Cason
The consistent and quality mare SWEET PLEASURES was comfortably beaten into 4th in a mixed feature over this c & d last month but she only finished three parts of a length adrift of the smart Rock A Bye Baby (runs in race 7) and now drops considerably in class. Of course she had cracking prior form in this company and is crucially back facing her own sex today.

VALUE BET
Race 5: RED HOT RUSSIAN(6)
Jockey: N Patel – Trainer: W G C Miller
An exciting finish is expected in this competitive mile handicap where the value could lie with the best drawn entrant RED HOT RUSSIAN. The bay gelding made late headway in his improved last effort over this c & d and though he has just over five lengths to find with the runner-up YELLOCLOVER, the 4kgs favourable weight reversal could be crucial. Of course the pair rise in class but they are lightly weighted and should be heavily involved in the finish.
