Sunday 14 June 2020

Winning Form brings you all of their best bets and tips for Sunday’s racing coming your way from Goodwood .

Race 2 No1 TULIP FIELDS
Trainer: Mark Johnston – Jockey: Joe Fanning

As she steps up to a mile and a quarter it’s hard to imagine TULIP FIELDS not trying to make full use of her berth on the rail by leading. The daughter of Golden Horn is something of a perennial bridesmaid, but with her liking for this undulating track guaranteed, could have too many guns for the less exposed Sorrel.

Race 6 No4 AIR FORCE AMY
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: James Doyle

The lop-eared AIR FORCE AMY is well forward for this seasonal return, running in the colours of a new owner in the form of her trainer. She has run well here before, and showed when opening her account at Pontefract that she handles an undulating track. Doyle looks a significant booking for the daughter of Sixties Icon.

Race 8 No3 FIJI
Trainer: David Simcock – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

The Cocked Hat Stakes has been used as a stepping stone to the Investec Derby and it’s not inconceivable that one of the four contestants could steer a course towards Epsom. The spotlight falls on Emissary who is closely related to a previous winner of the Premier Classic in Workforce. However, his colours can be lowered by FIJI on that colt’s first start for Qatar Racing. The son of Muharrar greatly impressed scoring on debut at Lingfield in January and could have too much speed for his foes in a sprint finish.

DONCASTER BEST BETS SUNDAY

Race 2 No1 DUBAI FOUNTAIN
Trainer: Mark Johnston – Jockey: Franny Norton

The Sheikh Hamdan-owned DUBAI FOUNTAIN is the subject of favourable reports and can make an immediate impact on debut. The race has cut up favourably for the daughter of Teofilo who can land the spoils on the way to better things.

Race 6 No4 DEREVO
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Ryan Moore

The lightly-raced DEREVO is 5lb higher than when scoring at Newcastle last July but looks the type of individual his trainer excels with. The four-year-old has scope for abundant improvement and can get the better of Spanish Archer, who has been given a chance by the assessor.

NEWMARKET BEST BETS SUNDAY

Race 4 No2 CRESSIDA
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Frankie Dettori

The penalised CRESSIDA can take the spoils and remain unbeaten in what is sure to become a tactical affair. The Dansili filly showed a turn of foot as well as buckling down well to prevail on her Kempton debut over a year ago. Gosden has taken his time with her and that patience should be rewarded.

Race 6 No5 INVOLVED
Trainer: George Boughey – Jockey: Cieren Fallon

INVOLVED is proving a captain of industry and can make this a second win from three quick outings this season. He was too keen for his own good in the Rowley course but still finished second on that reappearance, while going one better with a clear cut triumph after being heavily backed at Newbury on Thursday. He’s taken those exertions in his stride and can strike while the iron’s hot.

Race 8 No12 THE FIDDLER
Trainer: Chris Wall – Jockey: George Wood

Getting weight from each of his eleven rivals, THE FIDDLER can continue the upwardly mobile trajectory he displayed with back-to-back wins on his final two starts of 2019. He’s with a trainer that knows the time of day with this type, and can take full advantage of the stone he receives from Sincerity.
