Race 1: ALL TOGETHER NOW(7)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK
ALL TOGETHER NOW is lightly raced but has shown smart potential and is way better than his last run. He was rested for 11 weeks after that performance and the Mike de Kock inmate looks set to get his career back on track. He was impressive when shedding his maiden tag over this c & d, in his only polytrack outing and has plenty of improvement to come.
Race 3: MOOGHAMIR(6)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK
The juveniles get a chance to strut their stuff over ground and in contrast to this race last year, a smart field has been assembled. Trainer Mike de Kock’s charge MOOGHAMIR was unfancied when he produced a cracking debut performance over a mile against winners as Scottsville, two weeks ago. He lost valua- ble ground at the start but finished strongly for 2nd, beaten just over two lengths by a highly rated type. He was in turn only a head in front of the experienced TEAM GUYS but would have come on appreci- ably from that outing and should love the rise in distance. He should take a power of beating in this line-up.
Race 7: WILD ASH(13) – GOLD CUP
Jockey: Donavan MANSOUR – Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF
The fairer sex has a trio of decent representatives in this marathon Grade 1 contest and the lightly weighted Geoff Woodruff inmate, WILD ASH could cause the upset. The four-year old chestnut filly has developed into a classy stayer and that was enhanced by her superb last performance in the Gold Vase over 3000m on this track on July day. She raced right up with the pace and was coming back at the finish when a close 2nd. She was only a head in front of the vastly improved SOLID SPEED that day and though she is now 3kgs worse off with the latter, that first track experience & today’s extra furlong will be significant. The latter is in the form of his life and despite casting a shoe, he finished a close 3rd, three weeks ago. He takes a further rise in class but has a handy galloping mass of just 53kgs and has plenty of scope for improvement. WILD ONE has been excellent since joining the Mike de Kock ranks and was outrun late into 2nd in this event, one year ago. He has only had two recent comeb- ack runs since which are concerning but was impressive in both those efforts and is arguably best

Race 8: FUTURA(1) – TOP BET
Jockey: Bernard FAYD’HERBE – Trainer: Justin SNAITH
The Justin Snaith duo of FUTURA and LEGISLATE renew their rivalry and the Dynasty pairing should fight out another titanic struggle. The former is defending his title in this contest and he produced a top performance under a big mass in the July last time. Fayd’Herbe partnered him to the Queen’s Plate/Met double and is reunited with the four-year old colt who should take some beating this time around. His stablemate surprisingly contested a Grade 1 sprint at this venue last Saturday and though he put up a smart performance, one can’t help but feel that he was rushed into this run. He showed his brilliant ability when downing the top selection in his penultimate start despite returning from a long absence but may have to play second fiddle today. The likely sedate gallop won’t harm either colts’ chances and an epic finish is expected.
Race 10: NIGHT TRIP(1)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Mike BASS
NIGHT TRIP is another runner on today’s card that defends his title and the Mike Bass inmate has a bright chance of doubling-up in this contest. The Trippi gelding hasn’t won since that impressive c & d win, a year ago but his recent form behind top class stablemate’s Futura and Legislate stand-out in his formline. His rating took a hike after he got close to the latter and within a neck of the former in consecutive starts recently. He clearly relished racing on this surface and should take a power of beating despite conceding weight all around.
