Winning Form Best Bets

Race 1: REBEL ROAD(3)
Race 2: CLEVER KATE(6)
Race 3: ROYAL CHAMPION(6)
Race 4: LADY LAGO(11)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: JUBILEE LINE(8)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

The expensive purchase JUBILEE LINE attracted plenty of betting support when he was green on his fair debut over seven furlongs on the grass, 13 weeks ago. The form of that event has worked out extremely well and the well-related Dynasty colt would have benefitted from the experience. He should make natural improvement for a yard whose runners usually perform well on this surface. He races fresh so this drop in distance won’t pose a problem.

Race 2: ROCK OF BELINDA(1)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Dennis BOSCH

ROCK OF BELINDA showed lots of promise on the Highveld for her previous conditioner and she makes her local debut today. She returns from a 21 week break but has the best credentials and should go very close, if handling this surface. Her new yard is in decent form and the engaging of top jockey Delpech suggests that her conditioner will have her fit and ready.

Race 4: QUEEN DELTA(1) – TOP BET
Jockey: Sean CORMACK – Trainer: Dennis DRIER

QUEEN DELTA had legitimate excuses for her last run and she had smart polytrack form prior to that. The Drier inmate finished runner-up in back-to-back efforts, with her career best performance coming over this c & d. The daughter of Fort Wood is drawn in pole and she can quickly bounce back to her best form.

Race 5: BURRWOOD(6)
Jockey: Muzi YENI – Trainer: Colin SCOTT

This is a moderate low-key handicap and plenty of caution must be exercised. BURRWOOD is c & d suited and he has improved his recent formline. He finished well for a close 4th under Yeni on the turf last time and drops slightly in class. DELICIOUS DAMOWIN was carded to race on Gold Cup day so his progress there must be monitored. He is unbeaten from two efforts over this c & d and despite a recent four pound hike, he still deserves lots of respect with the 4kgs claiming apprentice retaining the ride.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY:

Race 8: EXCALIVAR(6) (Each Way)
Jockey: Ian STURGEON – Trainer: Ivan MOORE

EXCALIVAR had little go his way on his local debut over six furlongs on this track recently but he got his act together late. He eventually ran on to be beaten just over four lengths at the line and will prefer this extra furlong. The former Gauteng resident had smart form prior to his last two efforts and he could make big improvement in this line-up. His wide draw isn’t a major issue as he usually runs on late.
