Magic Tips Best Bets
Race 1: PLAY ANOTHER TUNE(8)
Jockey: W Kennedy – Trainer: G Van Zyl
PLAY ANOTHER TUNE built on his promising debut as he finished strongly for a close 2nd despite being inconvenienced around the final turn of his last start over five furlongs on this course. The bay colt gave a clear indication that he will relish this extra two furlongs and he should have much more progress to come.
Race 2: ALDO’S CHASE(1)
Jockey: S Veale – Trainer: D Drier
Jockey: S Veale – Trainer: D Drier
ALDO’S CHASE is improving quickly and after being outrun late into a close 3rd over a mile recently, he stands out in this very weak contest. The lightly raced Oratorio colt should have no issue with the slight drop in distance but he does make his debut on this track which can sometimes be tricky. He is well drawn though.
Race 3: ONE MOMENT IN TIME(8)
Jockey: L Hewitson – Trainer: P Lafferty
Jockey: L Hewitson – Trainer: P Lafferty
ONE MOMENT IN TIME quickly drops to the mile after he failed to quicken over further a fortnight ago. Of course he had an eye-catching debut effort from a poor draw over this distance prior to that and the son of King’s Chapel has much room for improvement. He may prove to be above-average.

Race 5: ROY HAD ENOUGH(2)

The classy ROY HAD ENOUGH showed a smashing turn of foot when he captured a listed contest over this c & d in late December and he deserved his ten week absence.
VALUE BET FOR TODAY
Race 6: BRIGHT BLESSED DAY(9)
Jockey: W Kennedy – Trainer: G Van Zyl G
Race 6: BRIGHT BLESSED DAY(9)
Jockey: W Kennedy – Trainer: G Van Zyl G
The three-year old BRIGHT BLESSED DAY is plagued with issues but he is fast making up for lost time and has improved rapidly with each comeback outing after the long 42 week break. The son of Judpot was particularly impressive when he stayed on for 3rd behind Guineas hopeful Noble Secret over a mile on his handicap debut on the Highveld three weeks ago. He wasn’t penalized for the effort and clearly has more to offer. This extra furlong should suit the chestnut who of course began his career in this province.
