Winning Form Best Bets

Race 1: MR MCSTEAMY(5)
Race 2: CRONOLOGICAL(6)
Race 3: GREY’S A ROCKIN(8)
Race 4: EYE THE COUNTESS(9)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3: ROY’S ROLL’S ROYCE(9)
Jockey: Marcus A – Trainer: Lafferty P V

ROY’S ROLL’S ROYCE is lightly raced and has good scope for improvement. He had plenty go against him in his last start over nine furlongs on this track but only tired late into a creditable 4th. Admitte- dly, he faces much stronger today but will enjoy the drop in distance and Anton Marcus rides from a good draw.

Race 5: ROY’S WINTER PAT(9) – TOP BET
Jockey: Cormack S – Trainer: Drier D R

ROY’S WINTER PATCH continues to improve smartly and he has produced solid post maiden form. The Drier inmate is effective on both local surfaces and he ran on strongly for a good 3rd in a minor feature over this c & d, last time out. The Drier inmate drops in class and should go very close from his good draw.

Race 6: STORMY ECLIPSE(2)
Jockey: Marcus A – Trainer: Laird C S

STORMY ECLIPSE loves this c & d and he had ultra-consistent form prior to his 18 week break. He dug down deep to beat some quality sorts over this c & d in his penultimate effort and despite having more to do at the weights, he could still be the one to beat. He has won racing fresh before and Marcus knows him really well.

Race 7: INTERGALACTIC(10)
Jockey: Lerena B – Trainer: Tarry S G

INTERGALACTIC benefitted from her debut experience when she thrashed a subsequent winner in the maidens over a mile, second time out. The daughter of Kahal could be above-average and she has lots of scope for further improvement. She rises considerably in class and once again takes on older rivals but still merits healthy respect.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY:

Race 1: BAGGER VANCE(8)
Jockey: Kennedy W – Trainer: Van Zyl G H

BAGGER VANCE was unfancied when he finished 2nd best on debut over this distance on the grass behind a highly rated sort, three weeks ago. He showed good speed on that occasion and would have come on with that experience under his belt. He tries the polytrack but has to negotiate an awkward barrier position.
