LEROY made good improvement from a poor draw over this c & d in a decent field last time and should build on that progress. He jumps from a much kinder draw this time around and is a definite contender.
Race 4: SEEK THE SUMMIT(8)

SEEK THE SUMMIT has shown plenty of promise to date and she is equally effective on both local surfaces. The daughter of Elusive Fort finished strongly for a close 2nd on the grass with blinkers fitted last time and she could prefer this extra furlong. The headgear and Anton Marcus remains on the bay filly & she is a lively contender in a competitive field.
Race 5: DUTCH HARBOR(7)
Jockey: Fortune A – Trainer: Wiid B O
DUTCH HARBOR may have been outclassed in his last two runs on the Highveld but would have benefitted from a ten week break. He clearly relishes life at the coast as he produced his career best run over six furlongs on the grass track in late April. The Gauteng raider finished ahead of a subsequent feature winner that day and he has no issues with this extra furlong. His conditioner’s horses have already made their mark on this surface and the Windrush colt could take a power of beating if handli- ng this track.
Race 8: TRANSLUNAR(1) – TOP BET
Jockey: Sturgeon I – Trainer: Puller G B
TRANSLUNAR is in very good form, having finished runner-up in 4 of his last 5 starts. He has gone exactly one year without a victory but he drops in class and could change all that today. The son of Fort Beluga finished well for 2nd behind a smart sort over this c & d in a feature last time and the 3rd placed runner gave that form a boost with a subsequent win. The Garth Puller inmate should go very close in this field.

Race 6: MACKDESI(7)
Jockey: Ngcobo C – Trainer: Scott C
This is an extremely competitive handicap and there could be decent value about the eventual winner. MACKDESI loves this surface and brings solid recent form into this event. He finished well for a close 3rd over this c & d in a similar field last time and will now enjoy a 4kgs apprentice claim. The Galileo gelding goes well for this appie and he merits respect.
