Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER
PERFECT JAY has posted two useful displays to date but was given too much to do from a wide draw in a competitive line-up over a mile on the grass three weeks ago. However, the Kannemeyer inmate was the only entrant from the second half of the field to make inroads over the final two furlongs. He has to, unfortunately, negotiate a poor draw once more but will strip fitter and the switch to this surface, particularly in a likely fast run affair, should suit him well.
Race 3: EDITH’S ROSE(4)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Glen Kotzen
EDITH’S ROSE was the subject of strong betting support when she made her local debut over six furlongs two weeks ago. The Cape visitor showed pace when racing wide that day but ran on again to finish a creditable 3rd when possibly just needing the effort. She will strip much fitter now and she gave every indication that she should enjoy today’s extra furlong.

Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Charles LAIRD
PRINCE PONTI seems to reserve his best performances for top jockey Marcus and the pair progressed steadily for a career-best effort over this c & d three weeks ago. The bay gelding meets a very ordinary field today and has definite claims from his good draw.
Race 7: PAPERBACK WRITER(8)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Dean KANNEMYER
The three-year-old PAPERBACK WRITER has an affinity for this surface but is much better than his form suggests. He got back to form when staying on well for a close 4th over this c & d at a far weaker level last time but he shouldered a big mass and raced wide throughout that contest. The son of Var is capable of raising his game to this level and he could be a huge force from a good draw.

Race 8: TOA NUI(2)Jockey: Warren KENNEDY – Trainer: Des EGDES
TOA NUI has displayed some improved recent form and wasn’t disgraced despite issues on the grass last time out. Of course, he recorded a career-best effort when running on for 2nd over this c & d prior to that. His yard has been in good form recently and the bay gelding can continue that run here.
