The grey LEGION OF MERIT won well in his last start defeating ROMANTIC FANTASY. He is in a good space and will be looking to make it quick back-to-back wins. REACH GOAL is much better than his moderate last run in yielding conditions. Lyle Hewitson has picked up the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.
13:40 – Race 3 | Class 4 | 1200m

ACE POWER showed massive improvement when getting up to beat Valhalla. He remains in Class 4 and should be up to the task at hand. SIGHT HERO finished 1.8 lengths behind GIMME FIVE last time. The pair meet on similar weight terms and there shouldn’t be too much separating them in the run down to the line.

SO TREASURE has finished close-up behind the winner in his last two starts. He has cracked pole and should take a power of beating. SMASHING EXPRESS makes his debut for the John Size yard and he can get his career off to a positive start. SEA SAPPHIRE is next in line.

TURIN WARRIOR finished a couple of lengths behind SETANTA last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. CAN’T GO WONG finished a neck behind KASA PAPA in his last start. The pair meet on similar weight terms and are both strong contenders in this line-up.
15:10 – Race 6 | Class 4 | 1650m
Selections: 4/2/7
ATOMIC BEAUTY has consistent form lines to his credit. He was beaten the narrowest of margins last time and will be looking to make amends. I CAN followed up his recent win well behind Big Red. He comes in at the top of the weights and merits healthy respect. GALLANT CROWN is next best.
15:45 – Race 7 | Class 3 | 1650m

The Douglas Whyte-trained ZOOM BOOM finished half a length behind LOVERO last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights which should be enough to turn the tables. GALVANIC won his last start on the All Weather. He is also effective on turf and can give the top selection a good run for his money.
16:15 – Race 8 | Class 3 | 1200m

JOY COMING finished a couple of lengths behind KAHOLO ANGEL. He is a whopping 7.5kgs better off at the weights and can turn the tables on his recent conqueror. LADY’S CHOICE has found one better in his last two starts under Karis Teetan. He is having his first run at Happy Valley and can feature if suited to the short run-in.

CALIFORNIA TOUCH has had the better of KA YING CHEER in recent outings. He is nicely handicapped and should give a good account of himself in the lucky last. The Mary Slack-owned WINGS OF WAR was rewarded for consistency last time. He will now have to defy top weight but it will be no surprise to see him in the winner’s enclosure.
