RODRIGUEZ lost a length leaving the start over 1700m on this course last time, but the manner in which he finished off his race caught the eye. He takes a big drop in class and gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Kobeli Lihaba. If this run has not come too soon, he can win a race of this nature.

DUAL AGENT produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on the turf. She was awkwardly placed at the 1100m mark, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The daughter of Twice Over would have come on from the run and will love the rise to the mile. If suited to the polytrack, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
