Race 5
This looks to be a very open contest where finding the winner is no easy task. The very tentative selection goes to GARBO who made good late progress to finish third last time out over six furlongs. On that effort he should appreciate the extra ground on offer here. BONAPARTE steps up in trip from the 1170M of his last outing when returning from a 32 week break to a more suitable seven furlongs, over which he posted a fair effort three runs back. From gate three, he should be involved in the finish today. LEILA’S STAR is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she finished second in her last outing over this c&d when friendless in the betting markets. She is drawn one outside the latter and will have 2kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice. MY DIVAS is another 5yr old mare who although finishing fifth in her last outing over the c&d, was just 1.9L behind the winner. She should be included in all bets.

Race 6
Another competitive race faces punters here and some caution is suggested. I AM THE FOX stayed on well when ending up in fourth place last time out over 2050M and should have no issue with the slight rise in distance here. SEBEAT has consistent formlines to his name and finished second in his last start over a mile. He has cracked pole position and would be a big runner today if handling the extra ground. ROYAL BOWER is a 4yr old filly taking on males. She won her penultimate outing over ten furlongs and then followed that up with a fourth place finish in her next start over the same trip. She is drawn wide out at gate fourteen, but she should be doing her best work late. AWAYTOFF finished third in his last outing over a mile, one and a half lengths off the winner. He is drawn eight and has his peak run here.

Race 7
NINE CLOUDS has his hat-trick attempt here after winning his last two start at this track, the latest over this distance. The gelding is drawn in a handy gate three and is taken as the best bet on today’s card. OOROO is a 3yr old filly taking on males. She finished a neck back last time out over the c&d after being denied a run over the closing stages and should have just about won the race but for that incident. She jumps from gate seven and looks to be the immediate danger to the top choice. ORDER OF VALOUR stayed on well in his last outing over 1100M and could complete the trifecta here.

Race 8
DUTCHESSE MOSHE is a 5yr old mare taking on boys and has her first run for her new trainer. She is a five time winner and if she is able to recapture some of her past form, she should be respected in this line-up. BEERZ WITH CLINT showed good improvement when running on strongly to finish second last time out over this c&d. He has to negotiate a wide draw of fourteen, but he should be picking off the frontrunners over the closing stages of the contest. THE BRICKMAN was making good late progress when finishing second over six furlongs in his latest outing. He is drawn in gate four and should be right up there in the mix.
