Race 1 – 18:30 – 1000m
A 1000m dash kicks off proceedings and it’s the recently gelded, PUT IT ON DETTI who cracks the nod as the pick to win. The 3-year old son of Biondetti won his latest which happened to be just his second career outing. That happened to be when dropping back to this trip after a modest debut over 1300. With the expected progression to come, he could still be ahead of the handicapper and might be worth following again. PRIMO POSTO won over 1100m five starts back and that was his best recent effort, having since attempted further. He will relish dropping back to this shorter trip and must be considered. GOLDENLINEOF has been in relatively consistent recent form and on his penultimate start over this course and distance, he looks a threat.

Race 2 – 18:58 – 1600m
WITCH HUNTER has put in two solid performances in her last two outings and she still has plenty more improvement to come, with her latest being just her 4th career outing. She boxed on gamely in her latest effort, which also happened to be over this course and distance. Tyler Gaffalione retains the ride and the pair should be very tough to beat this time. SIGNING BONUS has shown recent signs of a preference for this trip, having finished 2nd over this course and distance last time out and third over the same track and trip three starts back. Victor Lebron knows the daughter of Union Rags well, having ridden her in all of her last five starts. She is currently 7 runs into a campaign, so fitness certainly won’t be in question and if repeating her latest, she will be right there. I’M A ROCKSTAR finished right behind the latter last time out and with this being just her 5th career outing, she has further improvement to come and must be included.

Race 3 – 19:26 – 1200m
CHILLI HAZE showed good improvement last time out when boxing on gamely over the mile. That was just his second start after a modest attempt over this trip on debut. He will have scope for a lot more improvement and with that useful barrier draw in mind, he should feature in the finish. LIGHT FURY had excuses in his last start when having to be steadied in running. Despite that hiccup, he did well to stay on strongly in the closing stages and should have more progression to come. He returns to the same track and trip here and must be included.

Race 4 – 19:54 – 1200m
ENZOEXPRESS had excuses in that disappointing latest when finding traffic at the start. On his prior form, it is clear that the gelding has worked, and he is now overdue that 2nd career win. He likes this trip and from an improved draw, Victor Lebron takes the ride and they should be very tough to beat. FREE FLAYME has a useful record at this course and he returns on the back of a very useful effort last time out. That was over slightly further than today’s trip and considering the speed he showed early on, he should relish this shorter outing. STARSHIP TAXI has been inconsistent form. In an average-sized field like this one, he could be quite competitive. ASKAREE is another contender who is worth mentioning. He was an impressive winner on debut and must be included here.

Race 5 – 20:23 – 1600m
MESSINA is a $825 000 daughter of War Front, out of the Giant’s Causeway mare Pine Needles who was herself placed at Gr 3 level. Drawn in the cheap seats on debut she was caught 6-deep in the final turn and her effort never really amounted to anything. She lands a perfect draw here and should have the scope to fight this out. CHAMPAGNE LADY has put in two fair efforts so far and the $875 000 daughter of Uncle Mo should relish this step up to the mile. She has boxed on in both of her runs over the 1200m so far and this more sedate tempo should really suit. LASHARA and TAPITLIKEITSHOT both appear to have plenty of scope about them and must be included.

Race 6 – 20:52 – 1300m
DARK WEB gave a solid account of himself when returning to racing as a gelding, after a 6-month absence. Joe Bravo retains the ride and with the expected improvement to come, he looks to be one of the leading contenders for first prize. EXPENSIVE STYLE has his third run since his gelding back in early February. Beaten a nose in his penultimate start, he followed that up with a useful effort last time and he should relish the extra ground here. Of the rest, VICTORY TOWN looks set for a big performance after that useful effort last time out, when returning from a 3,5-month rest. He will also have plenty of room for improvement and must be considered.

Race 7 – 21:22 – 1600m
TOUPHA did well to overcome a wide draw last time out when boxing on for third place after being caught wide in the final turn. He has an impressive record over this trip and if building on that last run from an improved barrier here, he will be a major contender at the business end. DERBY CHAMPAGNE missed narrowly last time out, and he will be out to go one better this time. He has some useful form prior to that and with Tyler Gaffalione in the irons, he deserves plenty of respect. NATIONAL HONOR won his last start when beating the top selection. He lines up two pounds worse off at the weights here and may just find the weight turn around to be his undoing. With that said, he is a useful sort and must be considered for wider perms.

Race 8 – 21:52 – 1600m
FUGITIVE made steady progress on debut and he is going to relish this step up in trip. The $125 000 son of Candy Ride is bred for the mile and with further progression, he should be a big runner here. I’M A PHAROAH and VICTORY TOWN finished in front of him in that debut run and their form must be followed in the 6th race. COLONEL LIAM is a $1 200 000 son of Liam’s Map having his debut here. He appears to have shown enough in his workouts to warrant inclusion here. PER CAPITA has stayed on well in both of his starts so far. He was bumped in that debut effort when finishing third over the 1400m and he endured a tough trip over further last time out. From barrier 1, he should find the run of the race and feature in the finish.

Race 9 – 22:23 – 1000m
BAHAMIAN PRINCE took a bump at the start last time out but rallied well to finish 3rd. He has plenty of speed and has already built up a solid record, with 2 wins from just the 6 starts. From a plum draw, he should settle just of the first line before mounting a big challenge late. With Luis Saez up, he’ll be worth following. MIAMI CROCKET beat the top selection when winning his last start, his 2nd victory from just 6 starts. He loves this course and distance and with plenty of scope for more improvement, he’ll certainly be involved in the finish. ZANNO followed up that win in his second start, with a solid 2nd last time out when hanging late. He seems to enjoy setting the early fractions and could be hard to catch if things go his way.

Race 10 – 22:54 – 1200m
LASTCHANCEFORLOVE was an impressive winner on debut when displaying a sustained finish over this trip. The $190 000 daughter of Violence will have scope for more improvement and Luis Saez looks an attractive jockey booking. In this sort of opposition, she should have no issues finding the winners’ enclosure. GOOD CREDENCE gave a good account of herself last time out when stepping up to the mile. She won her penultimate start which happened to be her only attempt over this 1200m trip and with this being only her 5th start, she will have scope for more progression. From a plum draw, she looks the biggest threat to the top one.

Race 11 – 23:24 – 1700m
BATTLE OF BLENHEIM bids for a hat-trick of wins and an extension of that solid career record. With 5 wins from just 13 starts, he has picked up 3 of those wins from 4 attempts over this trip. A son of War Front, he likes to race handy and with the inform Luis Saez up, he rates the one to beat. GO AWAY has given two solid accounts of himself since the gelding back in early January. He too has a useful record over this trip and if building on that latest effort over the mile, he will be a major contender here. GENTLEMAN JOE could be an outsider to consider for the minor places. He has improved with each of his last three starts since returning as a gelding. With just 7 starts to his name, he’ll have more to come and must be considered.

Race 12 – 23:54 – 1200m
J P’S DELIGHT has shown plenty of class so far, having just faltered on the one occasion from her 5 outings so far. She should enjoy the slight drop back in trip and with Tyler Gaffalione up, she looks a major contender here. LIZA STAR is a 10-time winner from 28 starts, with 6 of those victories coming over this trip. She was a very impressive winner last time out over this trip and a repeat of that effort will bring her right into the equation here. JAKARTA and HEIRESSALL both have a solid record so far and must be considered in this wide-open event.

Race 13 – 00:25 – 1600m
FLYOFF looks to be the most obvious inclusion in the final race on the card. With a solid record over this trip and having already notched up 3 wins from just 10 attempts, he looks to be a progressive sort. Things didn’t quite go to plan last time out, but on his good prior form, he rates a major threat here. TWENTY FOUR SEVEN won his last start, beating the top selection and the two contenders meet on similar weight terms here. He too has a solid record over this trip and with the inform Saez in the irons, he must be included. AMERICAN NINJA is another contender who deserves a mention. The son of Majestic Star has some useful recent form before his last start when he had to be steadied at a crucial stage. On his best form, he will be a big runner here.
