Race 4
MANAGUA returns from a 13 week rest and has his first run for his new trainer, but he did win his only barrier trial to showcase his well-being. He has only had the two runs to date and showed good improvement second time out when finishing fourth over six furlongs. His jockey stopped riding him out in the closing stages thinking that something was amiss, which makes the run that much more encouraging. From gate six, he is taken to be the best bet on today’s card. UPRISE finished second last time out over 1106M at this venue, just a neck behind the winner when returning from a 18 week break. He has a wide draw of seventeen to negotiate, but he should be doing his best work late. KINGOFTHEHARBOUR has his peak run here after finishing third in his last start over 1106M at this track. He was only a length back that day and despite being drawn wide at gate fourteen, he should be involved in the finish here.

Race 5
MOONHAWK steps up in trip after finishing just under five lengths behind the winner last time out over five furlongs and should do better as a result. He has cracked pole position and should be right up there when they hit the line. MR PLOW on the other hand drops down in distance after finishing second in his last outing over 1620M, just over a half length behind the victor. He has his first run for his new conditioner and if fully settled into his new surroundings, he should prove to be a big threat to the top choice, jumping from a handy gate five. HUEY won his last start over 1100M by 1.6L despite being friendless in the betting markets. He took the lead entering the straight that day and drew clear of the opposition for a comfortable win. He has a wideish draw of eight, but he should not be lightly dismissed in this line-up.

Race 6
GUEST has consistent formlines to his credit, finishing third in his last outing over ten furlongs, just under a length behind the winner. He was only run out of it close to home that day and seems certain to appreciate the drop in distance. GRAZIANO was making good late progress before finishing third last time out over 1710M, 0.7L off the winner. He gets to start from gate five and could emerge as the biggest danger to the top pick. QUEEN LEAR is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys. She looked to be a tad disappointing when finishing fourth last time out over 1875M, but was found to have been cut into, so that effort is best ignored. From draw three, she should ensure that the males know that they have been in a race.

Race 7
TOBASCO is a speedy sort who kept on rolling to win his last start over five furlongs by just over two lengths. The form of that race has been franked and he could prove good enough to record his double here. VELVET AEROPLANE is a 5yr old mare taking on males, but she has pulled position and finished second over 860M at this track last time out. She was running on that day, suggesting that the extra ground on offer here will be to her liking. LACE AND WHISKEY is a 4yr old filly who has her first run since a 11 week rest and no barrier trial. This is also her first run for her new trainer, but although she finished sixth in her latest outing over six furlongs, she was just 1.6L behind the winner. If acclimatized in her new environment, she could make her presence felt in this field.
