Race 2: WITHOUT LIMITS(11)
Race 3: CLOUDED HILL(8)
Race 5: MIND BLOWING(1)

Race 1: SHADOWING(7)
Jockey: M Byleveld  – Trainer: V Marshall

MORE MAGIC benefitted from his debut experience and the short break as the Bass-Robinson inmate showed smart improvement when chasing home his strongly fancied stablemate Russet Air over this c & d second time out. The son of Captain Al finished nearly eight lengths clear of the next placed entrant Ernesto and should strip much fitter today.

Race 2: WINTER FIVE(10)
Jockey: R Fourie  – Trainer: P Reeves

WINTER FIVE again showed pace but marked improvement when going down narrowly after being equipped with blinkers over this c & d three weeks ago. The experienced daughter of What A Winter should have more to come and she can go one better with a top rider in the saddle.

TOP BET

Race 5: MIND BLOWING(1)
Jockey: B Fayd’Herbe   – Trainer: B Crawford

MIND BLOWING perhaps didn’t completely see out the ten furlongs when 3rd behind subsequent winner Magnificent Seven a month ago but the son of Horse Chestnut will love the drop to a mile and he should go extremely close as he did in his penultimate run over this c & d.

Race 7: DUTCH PHILIP(2)
Jockey:  A Domeyer  – Trainer: C Bass-Robinson
The classy three-year old DUTCH PHILIP quite surprisingly didn’t make the trip to KZN for the Grade 1 sprint at Scottsville, possibly due to a minor setback. Of course he had an eye-catching comeback sprint nearly two months ago where he had many of today’s rivals behind him and the son of What A Winter should go very close at pinnacle level here.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY
Race 6: INDIAN SONG(8)
Jockey: A Domeyeri  – Trainer: C Bass-Robinson
INDIAN SONG is still improving and she had an eye-catching first display on this city track early last month. The daughter of Silvano was her customary slow-starting self but she ran on late for a creditable 3rd behind a runaway winner over seven furlongs
