TAP O’ NOTH landed the betting coup when he impressively beat some useful raced types, including subsequent winner PHELAN LUCKY, on debut over seven furlongs in autumn. His yard has endured a virus during his ten week absence but his top class conditioner is obviously pleased with the son of Captain Al’s progress since. The bay colt will enjoy the likely blistering gallop and he merits healthy respect despite the steep rise in class.

The official merit ratings may not be the best guide in this listed contest where MISS MARKER can defy the handicapper’s assessment. The daughter of Var has come well in recent efforts and she sprinted smartly at a similar level five weeks ago. She was narrowly defeated by SILVAN STAR (0.5kg better off) when she ran on strongly for 2nd over this trip in her penultimate outing.
Race 9: PRINCE OF EDEN(8)
Jockey: Grant VAN NIEKERK – Trainer: Candice BAS-ROBINSON
PRINCE OF EDEN has struggled for consistency but is clearly capable in this field and he will enjoy the likely cut in the ground. The Silvano gelding goes well for today’s jockey and he meets his stable companion TWILIGHT TRIP on 3.5kgs better terms for a 1.80 lengths defeat over a mile in his penultima- te attempt. The top selection now has his peak showing and is even better over this extra furlong.
