TOP BET
Race 3: OSTINATO(12)
Jockey: Karl ZECHNER – Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

The juvenile filly OSTINATO regained her best form with an eye-catching comeback attempt after a short absence. She was slow into stride over seven furlongs in a competitive line-up but ran on strongly for a close 4th, beaten just over one length at the line. The runner-up Rings And Things easily beat the 3rd placed entrant Hopeful (3rd again) subsequently to boost that formline. This daughter of Judpot should enjoy this stiff six furlongs and she has definite claims despite taking on older rivals for the first time.

Race 5: WESTERN STORM(6)
Jockey: Piet BOTHA – Trainer: Glen PULLER

WESTERN STORM is versatile and the Var gelding has done well under today’s jockey in recent efforts. He is weighted to finish closer to CARDINAL CALL (2kgs worse off) and CORTADA (2.5kgs worse off) on their c & d meeting on 18/04. The four-year-old has clearly reached a competitive merit rating.

Race 6: MAGICAL WONDERLAND(2)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Candice BASS-ROBINSON

The unbeaten MAGICAL WONDERLAND is living up to her big reputation and she handled the rise to feature company extremely well second time out. The daughter of What A Winter clearly strengthened after her smart debut victory as she ran on well to beat TOO PHAT TO FLY by one length over this c & d three weeks ago. She was returning from a 15-week break so will strip fitter and the bay filly has huge scope for progress.

Race 7: DUTCH PHILIP(3)

Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Candice BASS-ROBINSON

DUTCH PHILIP is progressing smartly and his three wins from four starts bear testament to this. He easily beat a highly regarded sort in his first try over this c & d recently and is extremely well handicapped in this contest. The bay colt should take a power of beating.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 1: LOVE TO FLY(6)
Jockey: Piet BOTHA – Trainer: Glen PULLER

LOVE TO FLY is improving and should have finished closer to the much-improved WEEKEND WARRIOR over this c & d recently. The pair have scope for progress and the former can get involved in the finish, if jumping on terms. The latter shifted his ground in the closing stages which may have cost him victory second time out and he now gets the services of another top jockey.
