Race 5: BROOKLYN BRAWLER(3)
Race 7: GOLDEN PEG(1)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3:KEEP ON CHOOGLIN(1)
Jockey:  Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Willem A NEL
KEEP ON CHOOGLIN is unbeaten from two outings and he is quickly making up for lost time. The four-year old son of Trippi has been a late starter but he built on his eye-catching debut performance with an impressive c & d victory on his handicap debut, three weeks ago. He picked up a four pound penalty for his troubles but appears a very progressive sort who is still ahead of the handicapper. He will again shoulder top weight but should take a power of beating.

TOP BET
Race 4:
VARIANCE(1)Jockey: MJ BYLEVELD – Trainer :Vaughan MARSHALL

VARIANCE
is progressing with each outing and she was outrun late into a close 3rd over this c & d, seven weeks ago. The runner-up of that start has won subsequently which boosts the form and this daughter of Var has plenty of scope for further improvement. She is favourably drawn and merits respect.

Race 5: BROOKLYN BRAWLER (3)
Jockey: Sean Cormack – Trainer: Justin SNAITH

BROOKLYN BRAWLER has shown decent ability in his last two runs but may have found the mile too far for him, three weeks ago. He went close to winning over this c & d in his penultimate run despite racing wide. The Dynasty gelding has always been highly rated and he will be cherry-ripe on his third run after the layoff.
Race 7: WINTER PRINCE (4)

Jockey: Corner OFFFER – Trainer: Brett CRAWFORD

WINTER PRINCE has progressed smartly since his fair debut and he comes here in search of a hat-trick of wins. He was again drawn badly but ran on smartly to beat the four-year old gelding SHOUT (2.5kgs better off) by three parts of a length over this c & d, four weeks ago. The weights suggest that he has a bit to find with the latter but the three-year old colt is improving quickly and he has been blessed with a good draw. The son of Western Winter has strong claims in this line-up.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 6: CHASING DREAMS(7)

Jockey: Sean CORMACK – Trainer: Adam MARCUS

CHASING DREAMS was coming to hand prior to suffering a setback that kept her out of action for 33 weeks. The gutsy frontrunner has plummeted in the ratings and the engaging of top jockey Cormack suggests that her conditioner will have her fit and ready. She could enjoy the run of the race in this small field and can cause the upset.
