Race 3 (Allowance): No6 EUROMANTIC
Trainer: Victor Hanson – Jockey: Floyd Wethey Jr
With a win and three runners-up finishes at Remington, EUROMANTIC gave his connections plenty to be cheerful about. The son of Euroears returns from a near six-month absence but has trained well ahead of this first start at Will Rogers and is preferred to the two years older Word To The Wise. The latter recently moved barns after placing in two allowances and has to be respected conceding just 6lb to the selection. Mr. Misleading has winning form here, has a good post, and should also have a say.
Prediction: 6-7-2
Race 5 (Starter Allowance): No2 MY WISE CAT
Trainer: Robertino Diodoro – Jockey: Ty Kennedy
The Diodoro barn could have an unbreakable grip on this with Freedom Hill a potent back up to MY WISE CAT, both being last time out and winners. But while Freedom Hill was claimed after his success at Turfway Park and returns from a short break, My Wise Cat landed some good bets here to make it three from four since joining his trainer at the end of February. Having just missed out on the other occasion, he is a very solid entity and shouldn’t mind the step up from five furlongs to six. Thurman Merman has also seen plenty of the winner’s circle, albeit on the eastern seaboard, and must be taken seriously returning from 55 days off.

Race 6 (Maiden Claiming): No12 D R C’S ARM CANDY
Trainer: Scott Young – Jockey: Ty Kennedy
Twirling Candy filly D R C’S ARM CANDY has the wherewithal to end a frustrating run of three near-deliveries and from her outside post should quickly get into the vanguard. She’s proving expensive to follow, having been chinned when 11-10 and 8-11 on her last two starts over the sprint course here, but that form gives her an outstanding chance of staving off the challenges of Meissen, who shaped promisingly on her first outing at this track, and the once-raced High Profile who is a sure-fire improver.

Race 9 (Allowance): No2 FIGURE
Trainer: Ray Ashford Jr – Jockey: Ken Tohill
FIGURE made a more than pleasing first start for her trainer when second in an allowance over course and distance a month back. She was quiet in the market to indicate she wasn’t quite ready, but that should have provided the cutting edge required for her to go one better. Nocturnal Mission debuts for the Scott Young barn but is up the class ladder, and a bigger threat could stem from the unexposed Hoyam, who broke her maiden over course and distance and should have derived confidence from that triumph.
